The golden triangle is located in the heart of Bordeaux. It is bounded by the Allées de Tourny, the Course of Stewardship and the Cours Georges Clémenceau. It thus forms a perfect triangle where one finds at each of its summits an important monument of Bordeaux: the place Tourny, the National Opera of Bordeaux and the place Gambetta. It also houses the Place des Grands-Hommes in its center.
Ce quartier voit le jour à partir de l’année 1790 grâce à l’architecte Chalifour. Cet espace était occupé presque exclusivement par des couvents avant la révolution et il abrite encore l’église Notre-Dame, anciennement l’église Saint-Dominique, construite en 1634. Ce quartier se transforme progressivement au fil des décennies pour devenir ce quartier luxueux que nous connaissons maintenant.
