Montreal is a very special place! The great people, the gorgeous landscapes, and of course the decadent calorie packed mouth-watering cuisine Quebecois! While we are all know and love the stereotypical Montreal fair such as smoked meat, bagels and poutine, this is a Montreal meal like no other! Today we are at Au Pied De Cochon @aupieddecochon2891 – about to indulge in an unapologetically rich and decadent Quebec feast.

A pound of butter? –of course! a bit of foie in the dish? –absolutely! That’s the mentality of Montreal’s (if not Canada’s) most iconic restaurant serving up legendary Classics that are amplified with more fat and flavor and decadence!

This is one of the most extraordinary dinners I’ve ever had. Imagine poutine being rich and fatty enough, add a hardy duck liver gravy on top of that, along with loads and loads of.foie gras… It’s making a sinful dish even more gluttonous in the best possible way. We enjoyed dish after dish of artery clogging once in a lifetime creations. From the classic tomato tart to their original duck and a can (loaded with butter bathed cabbage, foie, duck…) as well as the classic stuffed pig’s trotter scattered with a generous portion of morels – smothered in a Port wine duck liver sauce, we certainly had a feast. And as all great meals go, along with the food you need great company, and I was blessed to get to dine with three Montrealers that are the backbone of the Italian community: Stevie, Anthony, and Frank! The folks behind Insieme, a community that connect Quebecers and Montrealers through food and social gatherings. Insieme means together in Italians and together, we had the chance to experience great food great drinks, and great friends.

  2. Now we have to watch a 10 minute commercial before we see food?? I’m no stranger to fine dining but this is just gross. 🤢

  3. Hi Tim,
Glad you had a great time. Personally I dont like foie gras so I guess I cant eat there. Some of those dishes looked "Too Much".

  4. I'm so excited to watch this! I'm saving it to watch this evening while I relax for the upcoming week.

  5. Looks like everyone had a great time! And, not a lettuce leaf in sight. Felt badly Steve missed out in the beginning. That (IMHO) was say too much Foie Gras. I couldn't eat all that – too rich for me. Duck in a can, now that's for me. Good ratings everyone. (Enjoying you get a nice bite of pork and morel and Ytb decides I need to see an ad about poop. Not your fault but it's so annoying.) Blessings from rainy Oregon!

  6. I'm glad you're so adventurous and willing to try new cuisines, Tim. The calories along would deter me…don't need to get "rounder", as Tim says! 😂

  7. I'm not sure about that first dessert😳but everything else looked great!!! Thank you, Tim!!!💖

  8. I love Montreal! I have an aunt and an uncle there, plus a bunch of cousins. I don’t know about that Plogue a Champlain dessert though, Uncle Tim 😂

  9. This was most enjoyable, Tim, Anthony, Steve and Frank. It had it's share of humor with the differing opinions on the food choices😅😊😅

  10. Why are you like this?! Just feels like you are constantly glitching. The idea that other people agree to eat/film with you blows my mind. Terrible manners.

  11. I went to Au Pied De Cochon in Paris many years ago. Being from the south I expected a different style pig foot but I Loved it. I don't remember much about other plates (it's been so long)😂. It's good to know if I want to recreate that experience I can go closer to home. I Love foie gras🎉.

  12. Glad to see that you have tried ADPC! It was dazzling in the days of Chefs Picard/Dufour. But it is still unique for Montreal even today

  13. You cannot go wrong with anything at ''Au Pied de Cochon'', as long as you stick to your Savoury/Sweet/Richness tolerance profiles. Ask before confirming selection,
as even in a grand eatery, individual tastes are not ubiquitous, experimentation is always fun but, go slow, you can always order more, it is heavy fare. Be well and stay safe

  14. Thanks for coming to try it out! I think most Montrealers have not tried it because it's so caloric. You were right, it's probably about 30K of calories! I'm curious to hear about what else you tried in Montréal! Did you go to the Jean-Talon market? It's my favourite place to shop at in the summer with all the fresh local and organic produce. I barely even go to the grocery store in the summer months.

  15. "We're hearing a lot of expletives in the most wonderful way." At least it's easy to excuse their French when in la belle province. 😅

I love how the waiter was willing to partake in the festivities by taking a shot. His shifts must be fun. 🥃

The restaurant should consider shipping their duck in a can for those unable to visit in person. 🦆
