Holden Manz is a boutique estate in Franschhoek, South Africa — the “French corner” settled by Huguenots in the 1690s. They treat Merlot as a serious wine: estate fruit, wild-yeast fermentation, long aging in French oak, and a Reserve label they don’t hand out lightly. Plush but structured — black cherry, cedar, and a savory herbal edge from the Cape’s native scrubland, the fynbos. Velvet with a backbone.
