Everything is leaking. Harvest has been postponed again. And thank God Yves is here.
This week at Le Clos de Torméry, nothing seems to go exactly as planned.
The cold-water unit has problems. The old wine press is leaking. The pipes connected to the vats are leaking too. Meanwhile, I continue cleaning and preparing the vats while waiting for harvest.
And harvest is postponed again.
But this time, we are certain: Sunday.
In the middle of all this, Yves Girard Madoux somehow handles everything. His knowledge of wine, winemaking and the equipment surrounding it seems almost encyclopedic.
I honestly don’t know what I would do without him.
We also take a look at verjus and at some beautiful Mondeuse vines—a wine for the more educated palate.
Harvest is finally coming, Sunday.
