Journey to the Château, Ep. 431 – In this episode, Patrick and Stuart continue working with visiting friend and patron Donna. Donna and Patrick clean up a buffet in the north wing of the chateau to use as storage for Patrick’s jams and preserves. Stuart finishes the detail work on the chapel door. Patrick and Stuart travel to the nearby French town of Touchay, where they shop at one of the summer season’s biggest brocantes. They find a few bargains and share the results.

Donna you really got lots done for Patrick and Stuart, what a great help you are ❤ The bed crown is a good size and as you say, is in a great condition. Have a lovely evening guys ❤❤😊
Just curious as to why you didn't just take the door handlel, etc. off and spray paint it.
So nice to see that Donna is still with the two of you, she is so right you need help to along with these tidbits that need attention. Brocante I just love going to Brocante! Great finds guys ❤
Donna strikes again! What a wonderful support she is for you both! I think you both have a great eye for treasures. It's amazing what you can find and repair, if need be. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures. Just a note, if you ever have time to create a white or chalk board list of the items you have in your pantry, it's also a great way to keep track, that is if changes are made to it when items are taken or added. I'm not sure I'd be disciplined enough, however, it is great if you do change the totals.
Just a thought; could you use Stuart’s toile that was previously printed in the wrong shade in this bed crown room? . Can’t wait to see auction items soon. Glad Donna was able to offer so much help. 👏😎
So glad you have successes with Hollyhocks..mine are always been stripped by the awesome Hadeda Birds along with the bulbs….The Clematis is such a lovely colour ❤

Great video! Donna did a supper job cleaning and reorganizing. You found some super things at the brocant. See you next video 😃.
Thanks for sharing your brocante trip, thoroughly enjoyed and like your finds
The chapel door looks marvelous. Hooray for Donna and her tireless energy! I'm sure it will be so nice to use your pantry with it freshly cleaned and reorganized. Looks like a successful brocanting adventure – that bed crown was a steal! Enjoy the rest of the week and hope it includes some relaxing aperitifs in the garden.
Donna is definitely a blessing ❤❤❤❤❤Lovely finds at the brocante especially that bed crown 😍😘

I love that you always do a mix of things in your vlogs, although as you know, I don’t just get green eyed at your broccante finds they turn emerald!
Nice haul. We specifically like the Trader Joe’s cooler bag.
Thank you for bringing us along with you on your jaunt to the brocante! The bed crown is lovely. Can’t wait to see what fabric you choose for it! Cheers! ❤️🥂
Terry, Ash & Tracey really needed that beautiful blue platter, or the last one that you picked up. 😀 They were just talking about needing a platter or two on one the last couple of their vlogs when they were in a brocante.
❤ So many great finds!
Donna is a dang powerhouse. It is very gratifying to see her dig into projects. It is obvious how she cares for Colombe, its little chapel, and its chatelaines.
❤❤❤❤
Nice to have a friend sort stuff and organize. ❤😂
💗😻💗😻💗😻💗😻💗🙏
Beautifull cabinet, inspiring to move all my preserves to a similar one that I have
It’s a good feeling to have things organized especially in a beautiful cupboard. Donna is a blessing to have. Always enjoy seeing your eclectic and creative/ beautiful finds! Visiting a Medieval market sounds wonderful! Thanks for sharing! ❤🪴
You always manage to find pieces that are special. The bed crown is in very good condition. I’m so happy you had a good visit with Donna and she was able to help you with things you just can’t get to. Sending ❤!
I love the chutney hutch. It’s great for all the jars. ❤
I am so glad you are getting through the heatwave and still making progress on your chateau. It is a treat to see Donna back. ❤She is a wonderful person to help you with the enormous amount of organization that will help you in your daily chores. ❤
Thank you, Donna, for all your hard work. You have freed up Patrick and Stuart so that they can concentrate on other pressing tasks. ❤
Another <<Hooray for Donna!>> What a wonderfully varied brocante! Great finds!!
Stuart, the door looks great with those details picked out in black. I envy your steady hand!
Donna, what a wonderful gift to organize the jams and chutneys. My big sister and I were just talking earlier today about times we’ve organized things as a gift. Always greatly appreciated. ♥️
Great bed crown, lovely chalk drawing, and you always manage to find a couple things that make me laugh, like the big pig.
Looking forward to seeing what else you found on Friday. And I’m intrigued by the new wine storage… could you have found the hidden entrance to the rumored vaulted space below the chateau? 🤔 Only time will tell!
I love brocanting with you. There was one picture I would have bought if I was there, it was a picture of chickens. I think it would have gone well in our kitchen. We have a clock which my husbands grandfather made from a burl, and they called it the chicken clock as it looked like a chicken, they stuck an eye on it. The clock is big and heavy and that chicken picture would have worked. I have a smaller oil work that my cousin did of a white chicken that is in the kitchen. There were also some vases that would have worked for the dinning room. As I said it is good I am this side of the screen, I would soon be broke. 🤣😂 You know Donna is a marvel she just keeps going and going, like the energy bunny. 😉 I got hubby to put a narrow blade on the multi tool, now I will not catch the trim. I keep chuckling at my husband, when ever he comes in the room he looks at the window, and says "I am not going to say anything, that is your project." 🤣🙃 The Deer keeps coming back to choose other items to eat in our garden. He has munched on the new growth of the old rose bush, maybe I should have left the old growth on it then he would have left it alone, but the new growth was growing too tall. He has also eaten of some of my Orange Daylilies, but the are almost finished. I am just hoping he does not take a fancy to my Hosta, I have so many of them, they are in every flowerbed and my north area is mostly Hosta. In a middle of a city and I have to worry about Deer eating my plants. We will buy hoops and net for next year. Ronnie in Saskatchewan
Hi guys, everything should be closing down by now, but I'm glad you caught a brocante while Donna was still visiting. The first stop at the brocante with all the sconces on a blanket is for sale on eBay this week. Fortunately, I passed on them for a slightly different style. I love the new bed crown; it will be a lovely addition to the gite. Mark & Scott
We all need a Donna in our lives.
