Journey to the Château, Ep. 446 – In this episode, Patrick and Stuart work to prepare the chateau for the upcoming European Heritage Days weekend (September 19 & 20). It’s the final countdown with only a few days left to go! They go to a brocante (flea market) in the town of Dun-sur-Auron with their b&b guests, where they also meet up with friends Tony and Jane. Patrick and Stuart share their brocante purchases and also find time to harvest this year’s peaches from the chateau orchard.

Join Patrick and Stuart on their journey to find a neglected, forgotten, or crumbling château or castle in their escape to rural France, and then continue to follow them as they show how to renovate a chateau with its restoration, rénovation, decoration, and furnishing. Along the way, they will also create and share videos on their preparation for having gîtes for guests, and an event venue in their chateau (wedding, birthday, anniversary, organization or club meetings, retreats, etc.).

  1. What a bonus to receive a new sewing machine, so generous, the prints are perfect for the bedroom, happy heritage weekend 😊❤

  2. The new B&B room is stunning🎉Well done to the both of you. The pictures fit so well in there. Nice work finding that candelabra. It would be appropriate for your chapel. Good luck with your Heritage Open Days. The locals will love the work did this year. ❤

  3. I adore the prints you found! They work perfectly on each side of the bed. The chandelier is wonderful too. Looking adorable you two with you striped shirts and matching glasses! Fun touch! Much love from MA💕

  4. Even though you didn’t get a big crop, your peaches looked delicious. What wonderful purchases at the market. Perfect choices for your lovely chateau. Hope your car situation improves, but so glad that your generous viewer gifted a new sewing machine to you.

  5. Those pictures are a perfect match. I hope your car gets fixed soon. A lady sidewinder me in April, but it is a payout as parts couldn't be found. Now looking for snother. I had a really good car till then.😢❤

  6. Peaches: Not as many, but they could be on a postcard. So beautiful, I understand why they’re tasty!
Sewing Machine: What an amazingly kind gift!!! Thanks from everyone!!!
Wired Ribbon: Pat, we will all enjoy your gift together. ♥️
Oh no, your car!!! And while you’ve been having so many guests. Yikes, that’s an expensive repair. Tony and Jane to the rescue! So good to have friends so close. ♥️👍
Always a furry chair. lol You passed on the adorable little bed crown? As you say, if you can’t use it, but it was cute. 😁
A beautiful candelabra. I can picture it as a centerpiece at your wonderful dinners.
I was hoping you’d get those prints. Perfect! ♥️
    Love the sparkle. 😁
    🤞👍🍀 🤞👍🍀 🤞👍🍀 for Friday!
I’m sure you two can do it. Good luck on your open day! ♥️♥️♥️

  7. Loved the opening so much Stuart 🙌 Thank you for always making the into such a treat!
Can’t wait to see the jam 😋
So happy for the gifts you received – you are so deserving of the kindness ❤
The bedroom turned out beautifully with the addition of the prints and i just know Heritage Day will be a huge success 🙌🙌🙌
    Big hugs

  8. So I just saw you with those beautiful new pictures in The bed-and-breakfast room. Love the pictures, but the Satie next to you …wasn’t that in the grand salon? Did I miss something?

  9. If you are strapped for cash, I was informed that you can drive a car without a turbo. It will be quite slow/sluggish but??? Just saying what I was told, to get you out if a pinch fir a very short time. Hugs 🙂

  10. I love it when you find such great bargains. 10 Euros each for those pictures and the exact colour match! I was once in Emmaus when I found an old Louis Phillipe chair in an odd shade of green to most people but the exact colour of curtains I had in a room. 15 Euros. Sometimes things are meant to be.

  11. Evacuez la pression, le château est magnifique !🤩 Un parfait exemple d'architecture noble campagnarde, décoré avec beaucoup de goût !

  12. How wonderful that a viewer sent you a sewing machine and another sent you all that wired ribbon. Thank god for Tony and Jane they are amazing friends to have. I live in country Victoria, Australia, and we seem to have similar weather patterns. When I see flowers or trees that you have in your garden, it makes me hopeful that I can also grow them in my garden, as I love a lot of the plants you grow. The candlesticks and your two prints are lovely. The chandelier is beautiful. Your chateau is looking wonderful. Gidday to your Aussie guest. Thank you for sharing with us.
