Hi everyone, my bestie and I have been looking at ways to make our apartment look more cohesive. We have a fireplace behind the couch that we’re going to paint the same shade as the walls, and a large black and white painting that we plan to hang there.
Recently, we realized that our living room rug was a bit small and looked better under the dining table. (Rug pad is where the rug was originally)
That leaves us with the conundrum of picking out a new rug that would tie the room together.

What do y’all think would look good, rug wise? I’d love to hear anything else you guys think we should try!

Move the art by the tv and wall controls a little to the left and a little lower. I think your apartment looks interesting and fun. A very eclectic look. Get a light color patterned rug that picks up a couple colors from the other rug.

The color palette is so vast, I think that is what makes it less harmonious. You have a beautiful red tv furniture, which makes your eyes pop to that color, but nothing in the room sustains that. If you want small change, I would add some red stuff to make more cohesion, but don’t over do it.

Pick a base color, I would do some beige so it goes with re recliner. Add beige cushions to de sofa. Beige coffee books in the table, maybe a beige jar, and maybe a candle. Then add some more red (a piece of art that has red, a red frame for a picture, a red coffee book, don’t do more) for the beige, I would use a secondary color and play with different texture, layers. (Keys bowl, candle, picture frame, a blanket, different pattern cushions, and definetly tone down the red furniture by adding more color in that furniture
