When I visited Chateau Laffitte Carcasset in Bordeaux in April I had the chance to taste a flight of 8 vintages from this Cru Bourgeois Superieur estate in Saint Estephe. Vintages ranged from 2016 through to 2023. I wasn’t really sure about the quality of the sample I tasted from 2018, so I thought I would try it again from a bottle. This short video is an extract from my full video review of the 2018 vintage outlines my concerns – while I liked the wine I still find it very awkward and out of balance.
