Hi everyone! We’re replacing our front door (old doggy door and damage) and while we’re at it, refreshing some exterior colors. These were the colors when we purchased.
House is tan with light green shutters and a green door. Outbuildings are tan with forest green roofs, so I’m trying to make everything feel more tied together.
Thinking:
• Keep tan siding (is a must due to budget)
• Paint shutters forest green to match outbuildings
• Front door: mustard yellow or marigold
• Outdoor furniture is currently purple, which I like, but I’m considering darker eggplant
Also wondering about the front of the house overall. There’s a larger visual gap between the door and the far window. Not sure if paint changes alone will balance that or if I should add something (plants, lighting, decor) to keep it from feeling empty.
Would love thoughts or inspiration. Should we consider a door with more glass, less, or similar to current?
Thanks!

I was thinking eggplant for the shutters and the door, although I do like the forest green color for all three. Do not like the idea of a yellow or marigold door. If you’re gonna do that, why don’t you paint the door of Pepto-Bismol color? It would look just as weird.
