A splash of color on the wall would help a lot. Whatever color brings you joy, I know someone out there has a better eye than me and could list specifics. But I personally think any color you like would look good! That or putting up some paintings or photos to fill the space next to tv. Even some hanging wall plants or a light fixture to bring some warmth into the space. White overhead lighting is always going to make a space feel sterile and harsh. Even switching bulbs can do a world of difference.
