I investigated the french fries at 10 of the most popular fast food chains in America, read every single ingredient label, and ranked them from worst to best. Anti-foaming chemicals, MSG hiding under different names, hydrogenated seed oil blends, and “natural beef flavor”.The good news, my friends? A few chains actually got it right. In and out fries. Let’s just say you took a cardboard box, 1 cut it into fry like strips, then deep fried them, throw them into the trash. Let them recycle, then turn them into another box and then you ate that said box.🎉

McDonald’s doesn’t really qualify as food any longer. Same with TBell and most of the classic FF chain joints.

I'm used to work at a French fry plant 2000-02. Mac fries were cooked in a different oil. We were told it was beef oil. It was pumped from a different tank than all the other brands. It did have, as did the others, Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate sprayed on the fries to keep them from turning gray before the were cooked. Potatoes were pumped from a holding tank through pipes that reduced in diameter to accommodate one spud after another slamming into cross-hatched razor blades at approximately 60 mph.
It’s Fast Food!! We really don’t what’s in that food, but people still like it!! I don’t eat it, so it doesn’t matter to me….😂😂😂😂😂

I have a peanut allergy, so I can’t even walk in FIVE-GUYS!
Shake shack does have decent fries, just too pricey.

I have been saying for years that Steak N Shake fries are the best in the industry, and since they switched to beef tallow they're even better. I just wish Steak N Shake would grow as a chain and bring one to my area, because it's a 90-minute drive to the nearest one!
McDonalds changed from beef tallow because Indians complained.

Vegetable Oil Blend (Canola oil, corn oil, soybean oil, and hydrogenated soybean oil), Dextrose (A sugar used to ensure uniform browning), Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate (A preservative to prevent discoloration), Dimethylpolysiloxane (An anti-foaming agent to stabilize frying oil), TBHQ (Tertiary Butylhydroquinone) (A synthetic preservative to extend oil shelf life) and Salt

You should include in-an-out fries. They are fresh peeled and fried in vegetable oil. Kind of thin and limp but they are the closest thing to home made fries.
