The Durantou family’s wines from Chateau L’Eglise Clinet, sit at the pinnacle of quality found in the Pomerol appellation, however sisters Noémie and Constance also produce a range of wines from neighbouring appellations such as this Saint Emilion Grand Cru, from Lalande de Pomerol and from the Cotes de Castillion that always feature heavily in Wine-Searcher’s appraisals of the best value wines from all of the last 4 vintages. The 2025 vintage of Saintayme includes a portion of Cabernet Franc, a variety that is not normally included in the blend of this wine. The results add an extra dimension to this already enjoyable wine. Thus before even knowing the price at which the wine is offered I find myself wondering if this isn’t one of the best value wines of the Bordeaux 2025 en-primeur campaign.
