Canton, Georgia is one of the best restaurant towns in the South right now.

I know how that sounds. We’re a city of under 40,000 people, 40 miles north of Atlanta. But I genuinely believe it, and the lineup speaks for itself.

Let’s run through what we’ve got:
🥩 Little Alley Steak — one of Atlanta’s most acclaimed steakhouses is coming to The Mill on Etowah. Filet mignon Korean-style, bone marrow canoes, ribeyes that run $55 to $67+. Date night is about to hit different in Canton.
🍣 Rock N Roll Sushi — locally owned, American-style sushi with hibachi, creative rolls, and a full rock and roll theme. Open seven days a week right at The Mill.
🌎 Tumi Peruvian Restaurant — authentic Peruvian cuisine in Canton. People are driving from well outside the county to eat here. “You enter to a very warm” atmosphere, the food is well-spiced and beautifully presented, and reviews consistently call it a hidden gem.
🍔 Bully Run — the newest addition at The Mill, from the beloved owners of POPS Canton. Now open as of March 2026: smash burgers, grilled hot dogs, loaded fries, gourmet chicken strips, milkshakes, and a dog-friendly patio. Elevated comfort food done right.
🥐 Le Macaron — French patisserie right here in downtown Canton. Macarons, French confections, pastry-counter energy that belongs in Paris.
🍫 Kilwins — handcrafted chocolates, fudge made in-store, 30+ ice cream flavors, and caramel apples. A full-blown artisan sweets shop at The Mill.
🍺 Reformation Brewery — one of the best taprooms in North Georgia, with 20,000 square feet of space, weekly events, and craft beer that earns repeat visits on its own.
🌊 J.D.’s on the Lake — seasonal lakefront dining on Lake Allatoona, with live music on weekends, BBQ, low country boil, and waterfront vibes that feel nothing like a small town. Open for the season now.

And this isn’t even a complete list. We also have Campania serving wood-fired Neapolitan pizza with imported Italian ingredients, Queenie’s Southern for upscale comfort food, Whitetail for artisan coffee, C’est La Vie for authentic French cuisine, Bizarre Coffee for specialty drinks, Mamma Onesta’s for Italian on Main Street, and Thai Mango for some of the best Thai food in the county.

What makes Canton extraordinary isn’t just the food — it’s the context. You’re eating all of this inside a walkable, historic, riverfront small town that was literally named one of the Coolest Small Towns in America.

There’s no traffic nightmare, no parking garage, no $20 cover charge. You park, you walk, you eat well, and you stay. That’s the Canton formula, and it’s working.

You don’t have to drive to Atlanta for a great meal anymore. The restaurant you’ve been looking for is probably already here. And more are coming.
