We’re moving into a flat that has a huge entrance hall, but every wall has a door, taking you to another room in the house. How can I make this area feel less sterile?
For context, the bottom image shows you the front door (down the hallway at the back). So you walk through that door, then you see the top image, which is doorway heaven.
Any ideas?

doorway heaven lmao
I’m thinking a fun paint color or wallpaper and a hanging lighting fixture!
A beautiful rug to draw the eye away from the doors. Especially one that has a large scene, like a tiger or big flowers or something, as opposed to a pattern. A centerpiece statement will distract from the doors.
If one door is a closet that you rarely open, put a big plant on a rolling caddy in front of it along with a floor lamp to give it light. Leave the floor lamp on and don’t use the harsh ceiling lights unless you’re cleaning or whatever. Or use a faux plant if there’s insufficient light.
It’s a nice space despite the doors. I’d be excited to move there if I were you, congratulations!
A relative of mine had a large entrance hall and I always loved it for some reason. I like the ideas of paint/wallpaper, a rug, and/or a hanging light.
Nice space, that floor is actually really beautiful, it just needs some warmth layered in.
* **Long runner rug**, go bigger than you think, ties the whole hallway together
* **Unify the doors**, same handles or even paint them all one color so they feel intentional
* **Gallery wall between doors**, keeps your eye from bouncing door to door
* **Slim console + mirror** near the entrance, makes it feel like a real “arrival” spot
* **Warmer bulbs**, current lighting is a bit harsh
Right now it’s all doors, you just need to give your eye something else to land on.
