In this Paris vlog, I take the train from Paris to Tours for a French countryside day trip to meet my friend’s new baby. But, as usual, the French countryside delivers more than I bargained for. I get lost hunting for a coffee shop in Tours, end up in a standoff with a man who demands I buy his coffee, and learn more about giving birth to a baby in France.
By the time I left Tours, the French countryside has given me a talk on the birds and the bees I was not expecting. Life in France is always an interesting experience. Thank you for watching.

Congratulations, Adriel! You’re going to be a fabulous aunt!
Asking if the child you were would be proud of the adult you are now is a powerful reflection tool to realign with one’s values, dreams, fulfillment and happiness. It reminds you to live for yourself, not for others' expectations. I also think that the answer changes throughout your life. We are in constant change, evolving and becoming.
Your question also reminds me of the great speech given by Viola Davis as she accepted the Chairman’s Award at the NAACP Image Awards ceremony. She recited that powerful anonymous quote about the definition of hell and reflected on her purposeful life.
What a wonderful counter-experience to what you went through in Tours.😦 I was so excited to see your arrival in a town very familiar to me, but very sorry to hear about the crazy guy you unfortunately encountered! The Loire Valley is so beautiful when you can venture outside of Tours. Perhaps your friend will change her mind about your bees. My husband is a beekeeper, and the bees never, ever bother us. They're too "buzzy" doing the buzziness of bees.🐝 Congratulations on becoming an auntie!
I love your pure honesty. My friend fainted when his wife had their first son. The poop thing freaked him out. His wife was so mad that he fainted but it was too much. The second time he was fine.
Congrats on being an auntie!!! Girl I’ll come help you beekeep, your friend is going to be focused on being a new mom now. I’m just trying to figure out how to make that move to Paris. This summer I already started taking French lessons. You are definitely an inspiration but the long stay visa I hear is challenging. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for posting your reflection. Can you do a video on your first impression of food culture in Paris and food culture, in general?
