Hello,
I got the keys for my flat on the 1st of September. Since then I’ve had to put my whole decorating budget into a new boiler and also spend a lot of time working and bonding two cats. Meaning that five months later I’m still living like this.
I started with the idea of having a totally gothic living room – all the walls black with one green wall…but then decided to go for this ugly blue instead I don’t know why but (instant regret). By now I’m not even sure that gothic is the theme I want. The room is pretty bright in the daylight. That is why I took down the curtains the previous owners left….but I’m stumped now and don’t know here to go. The “rug” is a cut of carpet leftover by the previous owners too and I have no where else to put the freezer. The sofa and table have to stay. Help me please, need guidance.

Big question that comes to mind first: are you on a tight budget? There’s a lot here you can do but depending on what you’re willing to pay for. Also do you own this space or rent?
Can you get some stuff secondhand to just fill out the space while you save for nicer pieces? Even some thrift store art would help. Also plants.
In the meantime, maybe use the table as a tv stand and put a blanket or something over the fridge and pretend it’s a side table. It looks like there’s a little bench next to the window, can you use that as a temporary coffee table?
TV way too high.
