Talking with La Presse, Mathieu Lapierre, one of the heirs to the Gang of Four Domaine Marcel Lapierre, revealed that he plans on planting some gamay & gamaret in Québec.
He didn’t scout the province for its terroir specifically; he married into it and moved to Québec two years ago with his wife after spending 10 years in France together.
That’s the most exciting news I’ve heard about the Québec wine scene in a while. No Champagne house plans on starting sparkling wine production like in the UK.
