Cheval des Andes is one of my FAVS!!! I’ve had 13 and 15. Both amazing!
Hola John. I like very much Catena and Apalta wines. Maybe one of my Top 5 wines of all times is the Nicolas Catena Zapata 2004 which I have tasted no less than a 100 times as I bought close to 80 bottles and my group is also a fan of that wine. After the 2004 we never found another vintage that could rival that one. I have my last bottle in the cellar as wellas a Nicolas Estiba Reservada 2003 and 2004 which are basically impossible to find. From Chile I love Clos Apalta and I also like Don Melchor although when young I find Don Melchor very green and with lots of green pepper that bothers me, but after 10 or even better 15 years the wine is a dream. I find that Catena is a great value and served for special ocasions like a wedding or reception is a great option because it overdelivers and you will not break the bank. Hey, maybe that is one good topic for a future episode : wedding wines that will please almost everyone and that will impress wine snobs !
