CINNAMON CRUNCH TOPPING -1/2 cup cold unsalted butter -1/2 cup brown sugar -1/2 cup all-purpose flour -1 tsp cinnamon
HOW TO Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly grease a baking dish.
Add the cubed challah bread to the dish and spread it evenly.
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well combined. Pour the mixture evenly over the bread, making sure all the pieces are coated.
In a separate bowl, combine the cold butter, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Use a fork or pastry cutter to mix until crumbly, then sprinkle the topping evenly over the bread.
Cover the dish with foil and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for another 25 minutes, until the top is golden and the center is set.
Serve warm with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh fruit.
