Worst fish and chips in Blackpool review. We went undercover to test the chippy covered by Danny Vs Food, ordering fish and chips, scallops, curry gravy, mushy peas and meat and potato pie to see if he got the real experience.
Danny Malin rated this place, but did they serve him better food because they knew who he was? We went in like normal customers and ordered the exact same items to find out. Good job he’s got a microwave!!! It’s a big NO!!! Old oil,sausage warmed up in microwave,pie warmed in microwave,peas,curry and gravy yuk and chips OMG. Total waste of money-risking your health!!!!! Brave lads 👏 Patt has joined the messy top club with Martin 😂.

A struggling business amongst a lot of competition in that area. Owner cutting costs (no bain Marie on / old oil and oil kept cold because no trade) If the quality isn’t good, people will go elsewhere. Ever decreasing circle. 😢Shame but that’s business.
I'm really glad ye reviewed that place. I watched Danny's review and he gave the owner some really constructive feedback in a respectful way. But clearly the owner didn't listen. I get that he's doing it all by himself and his prices are low. But low prices don't matter if you can't eat the food. Now I know that oil is expensive and changing it every couple of days will cost a lot, but if he doesn't do it then his business will suffer. He'll eventually close as word will spread and no one will go there, not even if they're drunk!
The peas/sauces having to be nuked as he wants to save some money by not having the bain-marie keep them warm is just nuts. The mad thing is if he just changed the oil, kept the sauces warm and was consistent with the food that he could charge twice the price and get it. Cutting corners like that will be his downfall. I bet he won't listen to your feedback either which is a shame. Thanks for another honest review lads as always.

Hate to say it, but fisher's plaice in layton is shocking. They use some weird eco oil, and it makes everything taste weird. Had it twice and both times its made me feel awful aswell… about a yera inbetween visits aswell… shame becayse the people seem nice and they offer an extensive menu!

Come to st helens mate. Town is a sh1t hole. I should know its my hometown but we have so many good gems one of them Is chipshop called chipmunk there's a few and they are amazing but you have to figure out which branch is the best. Luckily the best is only a 5 minute walk from where I live

Food reviewing should just be about highlighting good places. The guy obviously doesn’t care about the product but it seems like bullying for reviewers to deliberately go to shit places and start a pile on.

To all chippies. Stop using oil and start using Beef Dripping. Stop using pre-battered frozen fish. Stop selling Kebabs, Pizzas, Fried Chicken etc. Keep your menu based on fish. Go old school.
I was brought up in my dad's chippy through the 60's and 70's. I started off as a Saturday Boy peeling and chipping spuds when I was about 10 years old and worked my way up to frying by the time I was 14. But not as a fryer of the fish. Back then a fish fryer was a craftsman in his own right, with years of experience.

At the risk of sounding parochial, I want my curries prepared by Indians, because that's what they know (if they're chefs). Similarly, I want my fish and chips prepared by British people, who know that stuff. These asians are producing only crude imitations of the real thing, with mass-produced microwaved pies, for example, where the look is there but not the understanding. They're glorified reheaters, not cooks or chefs, and it's ruining our own food culture.
