Taking over the iconic Domaine Comte Armand at just 24 years old? Not a bad start to a career!
In this special episode, we are honoured to sit down with one of Burgundy’s modern masters: the legendary Benjamin Leroux. Ben joins us in the studio during his long-awaited trip down to Australia to taste through his stunning new 2023 releases.
Ben shares his incredible journey, explaining how not coming from a famous grower family actually gave him the ultimate freedom to experiment and forge his own path. We dive deep into the cellar to talk about his winemaking “toys” (including those fascinating spherical glass globes), how he trusted his intuition to pick early and beat the intense August heatwave of 2023, and how he is adapting his vineyards to combat climate change.
Plus, we settle the ultimate debate: do you really need to age your Burgundy for 20 years?

if you grow grapes and make wine, you know this guy is 100% on everything he says. not a deep discussion bur whatever was mentioned was great. if wine tastes like shit in first year, 40 years of aging wont help it😅
