A dish so good it feels oddly modern. Let’s make, “Stuffed Potatoes” from French Cookery (1832)! While I own the 1836 edition this book was originally published in 1832 making this recipe almost 200 years old.

  1. I'm not a winter person. I thrive on chirping birds, flowers & GREEN. I can't wait until spring/summer. We have a tremendous amount planned that'll finally come into fruition come spring time. The house is rapidly changing. We moved in 8 months ago & are working like ants every day to make it come to life. We are currently installing the front porch (when I say we I really mean we. We do it all ourselves). Next up is a white picket fence that'll surrond the house & gardens. Speaking of gardens, the garden will make the largest transformation. More raised beds are in the works. We burned off the front field to plant corn, pumpkins & watermelon. A chicken coop will be built before spring. We also have plans for bringing in a few…sheep! Thank you everyone for your patience as we settle into our new maritial home. I appreciate those of you that are with us as we put the paint on canvas, if you will, and bring this painting to life.

  2. I noticed your whisk broom and wanted to comment something (that I learned from the Ken Burns "The Shakers") that brooms were round and it was the Shakers who flattened them. So then is your broom a copy of a Shaker broom? 🙂

  3. The peace that is having a baby. ❤️ My toddler is running around terrorizing our animals. 😂 Each stage is so special.

  4. I made some potato pancakes with my leftover mashed potatoes. So nice as a change of pace. I’ll try some stuffed potatoes tomorrow.
