Just like every French children after school (or every child at heart like me) we eat a piece of homemade cake, biscuit, or a classic is always bread, butter and a square of chocolate with a glass of milk. Today I am sharing my Gâteau marbré recipe (marble cake) which is just perfect for the occasion! It always tastes divine and looks beautiful with little hassle 🙂 who is going to have Goûter tomorrow ? INGREDIENTS 5 eggs 125g of plain flour 125g of salted butter, melted 125g of caster sugar 1 tsp of baking powder 1 tsp of vanilla paste or extract 125g of cooking dark chocolate, melted METHOD 1. Separate the eggs, and whisk the egg yolks with the sugar for a few minutes. Add the butter, and finally the flour and baking powder. 2. Separate the batter into two equal bowls. Add the vanilla to one and the melted butter to the other. 3. Grease a standard cake tin and spoon the batter randomly into the tin, or use piping bags like me. 4. Bake for 35 to 40min at 180C fan oven. Keep the moisture in by wrapping in cling film. Bon appétit! #hostlikeafrench #frenchcake #marblecake #Recipe #cakerecipe #gouter #frenchlifestyle #frenchlife #frenchcuisine
