Just moved into a new (rental) apartment, and while I’ve recently finished unpacking everything, I’ve realized just how much space I have above these cabinets. With the vaulted ceilings, it’s easily 3.5’ or more. It feels too empty to leave as is, but I also know that cabinet decor can easily feel outdated or get grimy quickly. Any ideas? The rest of my furniture is navy with pink/gold accents, if that helps!

Sounds weird but if it were my kitchen I’d color match the cupboards and paint the walls above the cupboards that exact color to give it the optical illusion of height.

I would do a subtle tone on tone mural of a landscape from your area of the world.

You can add some art and decor.

I’d probably add some kind of unhinged mural
