We recently bought a property in Baja which included a very small casita – bedroom/bathroom. We painted the walls a soft white, painted the alcove a color that worked with the $35 bedspread I bought plus a piece of art I got free years ago. Purchased the bed and frame and I already had the matelesse from years ago, and then used a side table and lamp already there.
The bed is on one side of the small room, with a large armoire on the side wall, then an old vanity and mirror on the other side, next to the toilet which is up a step and has a separate door. We painted the vanity a slightly darker color than the alcove wall, added a Mexican-pattern sink ($125) plus new faucet /drain to replace the old plumbing which we found was rusted out and starting to leak.
I have plans to find something to put around the mirror (since it is attached pretty firmly onto the cement wall) and maybe replace the light fixture (don't know how large the hole is), and then add a few pictures or something.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
