Hi! We recently purchased a home, and the wall in the living space is a bit awkward. The asymmetrical bump outs in the wall drive me a little crazy on their own, but we also wanted to do wallpaper or stenciling/hang art and it makes me concerned that were we to add a pattern or more visual interest to the wall, the lack of symmetry would only pop out more. I'm considering doing drywall to either make a flat wall myself, or making the space symmetrical with small faux walls (as in the second AI generated image).
Does anyone A) think I'm crazy for this, B) have an idea that would make the room work as-is, or C) have a preference for the totally flat or symmetrical recesses idea?

I would lose the couple inches and make the wall flat.
The bump out doesn’t bother me. I would lean into it and go with the AI faux symmetry option to give a little architectural detail. If you’re not hurting on space, the flat option is great too.
