Pulling a great espresso shot shouldn’t feel like gambling — but at Costco, it often does.
In this video, I test and rank 8 popular Costco coffee beans for espresso machines, from absolute worst to genuinely impressive. Every coffee was pulled on the same espresso machine, same grind range, same shot recipe — no bias, just results.
Some of these beans produce burnt, bitter shots with weak crema. Others deliver smooth, café-quality espresso that rivals coffee shops charging $7 a cup.
☕ In this video, you’ll learn:
• Which Costco coffees are terrible for espresso
• Why dark roast doesn’t mean better espresso
• The biggest “espresso blend” trap at Costco
• The best Costco coffee for straight shots and milk drinks
• Which beans work best for super-automatic machines
Whether you use a Breville, Gaggia, Jura, or a manual espresso setup, this ranking will save you money and frustration.

Here in Seattle, we don't get the Mexican or Lavazza roasts. However, we do get Kirkland Organic Peru medium roast, and it is the best espresso here. It is a single origin and it can go toe-to-toe with many specialty roasters.
So AI. Also SO inaccurate.
