👑 Galette des Rois season is here — and today we’re making it with a special twist.
This isn’t just any French pastry
this is my wife’s late father’s recipe.

In France, the Galette des Rois is eaten in January to celebrate Epiphany — and inside the cake, there’s a hidden fùve. Whoever finds it becomes king (or queen) for the day.

Our recipe is simple, traditional, and absolutely delicious:

đŸ§Ÿ Ingredients:

250g sugar

250g almond flour

160g butter

5 eggs

1 shot of rum

2 sheets of puff pastry (pùte feuilletée)

Whether you live in France, love French food, or just enjoy trying unique recipes from around the world, this one is worth it.

đŸ‡«đŸ‡· Bon appĂ©tit — and long live the king (or queen). 👑

  1. Love galette des rois ! Tried to do the dough once but it went wrong 😂 pĂąte feuilletĂ©e is sooo difficult to make!

Vous me donnez faim…

  4. It is anathema to have Galette des Rois before Christmas! I've stopped watching your video and resume my viewing in the new year.

  5. Looks really good! (And I won’t pile on about y’all jumping the gun time-wise, but yeah 😂). Our daughter Genny was born January 6, and me and Susie happened to have a galette de roi when she was a newborn, so for her first birthday, we decided to get her one as her birthday cake last year. She LOVED it (and she got the fĂšve!) so we’re going to make it a tradition for her now. We just call it the “Queen’s Cake” en anglais. 😉 ❀ (one question: for the glaze, was that using the leftover egg whites, or one extra egg yolk? What else was in the glaze?).

  6. This is such a beautiful way to keep his memory alive ❀ And Galette des Rois is already magical on its own!
