We challenged chefs of three different skill levels – an amateur, a home cook, and a professional – to make us some hot dogs. After each of them had offered up their creation, we asked a food scientist to review their work. Which one looks like the most fun on a bun?

Boiling is the easiest? Have you heard of a Microwave? Lol. 30 secs and bam you're done.
Thankfully… something I never crave.
Me: set up Weber Go Anywhere charcoal grill with lump coal and either pecan or cherry smoking wood on one side (two zone cooking)
Keep the dogs on the indirect heat until they start to sweat, then move them directly over the coals to sear them
Put them in a toasted New England style (top split) bun with pickle relish and spicy brown mustard.
Grill well then slap chilli, mustard, and chopped onions on it
She says boiling is the quickest…pshhhh, microwave is 60 seconds
The Epicurious guy is a fool. Newsflash, Frank, when I want hot dog, chilling them overnight is not an option. They are meant to be an easy, quick meal for those of us who have an limited budget. You never fail to make something that an everyday Joe could never afford to make.
Just effing stop it, Frank.
I'm really proud of everyone for not using ketchup 😊
Bratwurst is already cooked??? Never seen precooked; I always buy mine fresh.
Adding bacon to a kosher dog is literally some type of blastfamy
I’ll take hotdog #2 first, hotdog #1 second and hotdog #3 is too pretentious to even eat.
A hotdog IS a sandwich and a bratwurst is NOT a hotdog so….
sandwich
noun
sand·wich ˈsan(d)-ˌwich
ˈsam-;
: two or more slices of bread or a split roll having a filling in between
Yes a hot dog is a sandwich no matter if you like it or not.
Ok, a bratwurst is not a hot dog and whatever "lamb" hot dog that dude was making? I wanted to like this series but it is so stupid.
1:00 lost me a lamb hotdogs.
Still waiting for level 4 –
And they
should make them taste each other‘s hotdogs
I love how everyone enjoyed their dog!
Emily, girl, you’ve come so far 😂😂😂
Number 2 over cooked her sausages.
Level 2 100%
BRATS ARE NOT HOT DOGS! 🤢 Give me an Oscar Meyer weenie and a plain bun! A little relish and onions .. nothing else.
I’d happily eat all 3
Sorry, but you can't boil hotdogs… It's illegal in my house. They are grilled, pan fried or microwaved.
only Emily made a hot dog.
"You know the hardest part about cooking is the waiting"
Pan to Frank
Emily is a real one
These recipes don't hold a candle to several brazilian versions of hotdog
hello i am five years late to point out that the food scientist said that emily made a pork hot dog, which is quite funny, as those are clearly hebrew national hot dogs, and thus antithetical to the very idea of a pork product
When i make hotdogs i just want something easy
Why is this in Alex Pandrea’s coin magic playlist???
