We’ve kayaked and camped a lot of places but there’s one that always pulls us back.
This time, we loaded up everything we could fit in our kayaks and paddled across Lake Ouachita to spend two nights camping on a remote island with no roads, no service, and no one else around.

We’ve been coming here for years, and every time it feels a little different a little more peaceful, a little more like home.
Two nights off-grid, cooking by the fire, swimming in the lake, and watching the stars come alive above the water.

If you love kayak camping, off-grid adventures, and the quiet side of Arkansas, this one’s for you.

Full adventure starts now, come spend the weekend on the island with us.

  1. I've just found your channel, but for someone who has never been on the eastt coast, I've really enjoyed your videos!

  2. Love the beautiful sunrise and sunsets!! Thank you for the beautiful scenery ❤the island with the " beach" where Cody went swimming and his tiny fish😂

  3. 👋lived in Little Rock, went thier in the 80s and camped out on a island, it was a blast I'll never forget it ! I had Chicken with beer basting over wood delicious! Oh did I say beer !😁😎👍💯

  4. Try Mamoo's Camp Kitchen meals. You won't be disappointed. The breakfast scramble is amazing….. but then, so are the others.

  5. That meal looked really good, and it would also be good in the morning with eggs on top! One of my favorite meals I've cooked outside was pork chops, beans, potatoes, and corn on the cob. Another one, was small whole chickens, with potatoes, carrots, and onions, all wrapped in foil, and cooked in the fire, it was fantastic. Yall keep camping and cooking, we'll keep watching. 😊

  6. Favorite over the fire dish is our spatchcocked Thanksgiving turkey in a 16” Dutch oven. Can’t be beat!

  7. The sunrise and sunset views were stunning!!! I could see why you love camping on that island!! Love seeing your excitement from being there !! ❤😊

  8. Kelly when packing firewood you might need a Tshirt so you dont get scratched. Just an idea! Another great calming peaceful video with all that is going on. Thanks again!

  9. Wow, I really love your videos. I have been watching them all afternoon. I grew up canoeing and camping, sure do miss it. I'm now 70, and disabled. You are living my memories, and my dreams. Though some of your hiking trips are a little more challenging if it were me. But I appreciate all that you have/are sharing. Thank you so much for sharing your journey. ❤ My sister and her family kayak white rapids in Oregon, her daughter is a certified rafter. Have you guys ever done any water trips in Oregon? Have not viewed all your videos yet, but I will. ❤

  10. Beautiful Spotted Bass. Such dark green backs and bright white bellies. Not largemouth btw. A largemouth jaw extends past their eyes making it the easiest way to tell. The spots also tend to have a sandpaper like patch on their tongues.

  11. Just a friendly PSA – holding fish up horizontal by their lower jaw can cause damage and sometimes eventual death, especially in larger fish but sometimes even in smaller ones.

  12. What a great getaway! Thanks for the tag-along! Cody made me laugh pushing the rocks around 'like a chicken'! Such solitude at Lake Wachita! The beautiful sunrises and sunsets, the kayaking, swimming, fishing and that sausage dish made this a very enjoyable video! Can't wait for the next one! Safe travels till next time🌞✌️

  13. i made manhatten clam chowder at deer camp over the fire and it was amazing. thanks guys for the great videos

  14. My husband and I recently camped on an island in lake Ouachita with one of our sons and his two teenagers. Our first camping in at least 20 years! We loved the peacefulness and all the fun fishing, boating, skiing & tubing but at our advanced age of late 78 it was a bit tiring. One of my favorite parts was our nightly campfires, s’mores, Star gazing and wonderful family conversations! We are so blessed our son & grandkids included us on this camping trip and several boating day trips! Hope we can manage to do it again.

  15. Great Video Guys!
When we go Camping. We always make a "Camp Fire Speacial" = Hillshire Sasauge Cut/Red Skin Potatoes Cut/Onions Cut/Carrots Cut/Corn Cobbs Cut in Half, Add Water so it steams good. Over Coals. Yum Yum! 🏕👍

  16. Hey! Love the videos. The wife and I love watching them. If I could make a tiny little suggestion. Perhaps try to minimize the use of superview (or equivalent) on your GoPro. Maybe use Wide or Linear instead? The superview warping the edges of your nice footage can be tough to watch when the camera is panning a lot. Works well for POV like mountain biking but not great for panning and selfie shots as it can be a bit nausea inducing.

  17. Cody! Grab a LifeStraw Mission 12L Gravity. I grabbed one five years ago and we've used it on Boundary Waters Canoe Trips, on boat days, rv camping, and we even travel with it and filter water in hotels for drinking. Packs easy, scoop up water, hang it from a tree at camp and filter away into your drinking container(s). 10/10
