As a Brit who loves breakfast, I set out to compare two very different spots in London, the legendary Regency Cafe and the Michelin-starred Hide in Mayfair 🍳
The Regency Cafe, recently under new management, now serves their classic breakfast for £9.65 ($13). Meanwhile at Hide, I tried their famous scrambled eggs on toast with truffle and caviar, plus a £42 ($56) espresso, croissant, croque monsieur, and what might just be the best French toast I’ve ever had, bringing the total bill to £180 ($243).
Is the Regency Cafe still the ultimate cheap breakfast spot? And can breakfast at Hide really be worth that price tag? 🌟

  1. You can put milk in your black coffee ☕ it makes it more creamy and pleasant to drink.

  2. Calculator was the name for a person that did numbers in the olden days. We adopted it in the modern age for plastic adding macines, and finally digital calculators in the 60s onwards.

  3. Your camera person was filming the top of people’s heads and your head and not the food in Hide, until you put it on your fork. Cutting the vlog filing off an jumping all over the place with the camera. So a little dizzy. The restaurant was outrageous. I would rather go to the Wolsley for breakfast

  4. Charming. All I could see was how you were hurting your body with that massive blood sugar spike starting with the dessert bread followed by bread.. 🤦‍♀️ oh my, look after yourself better, love.

  5. Left youtube around 2018 because everything was boring, glad you are back doing normal wholesome videos

  6. The owner of Hide is an absolute legend! Russian businessman who fled the country to escape Putin and prison. He also owns an alcohol store called Hedonism wines and it’s like being in a museum 😮❤

  7. hi harrison, i never ever subscribe to youtube channels.. the only one ive subscribed is this one chem channel which helped me pass a super dreaded exam.. anyways now the second one is you!

  8. Cafe Rouge hahahaa literally havent heard that name in like 7 years… and im only in my early 20’s 😭

  9. The food in this restaurant looks pretty good but THE ARCHITECTURE AND THE DESIGN?! Absolutely insane. So quirky and right up my alley. Rare to see something this whimsical and cool in London. Would love to visit for a tour

  10. From what I have observed on Michelin Star restaurants that are in NYC if one has a dress shirt, suit trousers and leather shoes it is generally suitable for breakfast and lunch. Although for dinner the blazer and tie should definitely be added to the attire. So save that suit when you do reviews for dinners at the Michelin Star restaurants! You look bang on in your new suit! ❤ If the restaurant management recognizes you as an influencer for restaurant reviews on the media they might give you special attention, sometimes a dish or two that is complimentary from the chef and maybe even sending out the chief to come have a wee chat with you. Enjoying your videos! Keep up the fabulous work on your channel!

  11. New subscriber from Gary eats…really enjoyed the informal but cheekily funny way you put this video together. £42 coffee beans for that 😳😱…but that croissant 🥐 looked delicious.

  12. I used to eat at the Regency in the late 80's when I worked in Victoria Street. I do hope that they don't change it inside 🤔
