Yummy love this idea
She is so much better than the temper tantrum screaming pot, throwing celebrity chef. Not a tattoo to be seen. She doesn't need any of it.
Thought they forgot about this.
This was the episode where you can see a crewperson's shadow not long after this begins,
You're a Saint, Julia!
Every time I see someone use a grater or mandolin my stomach tightens up a bit imagining the grating/slicing of my fingers.
Always keep the kooks and nuts out of the kitchen, especially when you’re deep fat frying! 😂
Not gonna lie, this is probably the nastiest episode she has done. Love the show, but not every recipe is a winner.
as Julia was using the mandolin i was "Julia please be careful those things are dangerous!"
I love homemade french fries, and I've used her method and it's a winner.
Julia is the Queen of cooking. No one can touch her! Like a captain on a ship, even when she's wrong, she's right. Julia is so real and unflappable. No kids, cooks, or nuts in the kitchen.
Her joy when the potatoes started puffing was adorable
I live in a small 1 bedroom apartment, and when I deep fry anything my place smells like fryer fat for at least a couple weeks afterward, so I let restaurants do it for me. But I do enjoy the act of deep frying foods, and I enjoy eating the results even more.
Supper tonight was a burger with the works, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles.and a slice of cheese.and fries. I hate cold fries.just put me off. Of course you can nuke them or keep them warm in the oven. I admit i like mines hot you see the smoke rising off them just a sprinkle of sea salt. It don't take much.😊 things or tools have improved since this was aired. Mandolins have safe guards. You have to keep your machines or tools whatever you are using clean to prevent rusting and easy use. Julia had a lot of patience, she wanted things to go just right. Yet i don't think she tolerated imperfection. See how she threw out that basket, saying it's handle was missing😊 i apperciate the video, but i don't think I'll be fixing more than one potatoe dish at a time. I ask myself i wonder if julia is watching her episodes and saying. Oh i should of did this or that. Or gee i was having a bad hair day and nobody told me, oh well.🤷♀️😅. ✌🕯💕🙏✨🤗🦋🌻🌹🙂👋👣. Nj.😊😊😊😊😊.
I miss her so much. Way ahead of her time.
Julia’s potato chips look burnt and gnarly. She cooked her them in oil that was WAY too hot. I deep fry perfect light golden chips at a lower temperature. The lower temperature is essential and I don’t even have to waste paper towels drying the raw potatoes. If anyone wants more information, let me know.
Rip Julia. Those home made French Fries 🍟 look so good. The potato nest looks good to. My grandmother who passed away in 2011 always made home fried things and she was very good at it. Thanks for posting this.🍟
Oh she scared me when she sliced on the mandoline without any guard! I had flashbacks of a old SNL skit!
Throwing the scraps she mentioned could make a soup is pure waste. Martha would compost that or give it to her chickens!
“Potatoes are very strange animals…” 😂
“…and don’t allow kiddies, or a lot of kooks and nuts to run around in your kitchen…” (when you’re deep frying). 😂 😂😂
I guess that’s why I don’t deep fry very often…Too many “kooks and nuts”.
If course, we’ve all heard that saying, “Too many kooks spoil the broth.”
