Help! I am highly carb sensitive. I was vegan/vegetarian for most of my younger life and am very environmentally conscious. Unfortunately I steadily gained weight over the years despite watching my calories and being very active. Additionally, my A1C and cholesterol were sky high and I have 2 autoimmune diseases. Reluctantly, I started adding the best quality animal protein I can find and afford to my diet. It has improved my health and helped me loose some weight and definitely improved my energy. How do I balance my ethics with my health? It is a constant source of angst for me.
I just watched the Diary of the CEO interview with Mr Beast, where he talked about the obscene amount of child labor in the chocolate industry. I know he makes questionable choices and far from perfect and probably not our type of content what he creates. But i think it's really important and sadly rare from big companies to talk about these things. So if you don't know what i talk about. It's impossible to source cocoa from Africa without child labor involved. So when we eat some, probably contain cocoa from child labor.
It's just soo hard to think about everything when we want to buy something nowadays. It feels like a game where we can't win.
As a frequent viewer I was excited when you announced you visit Biofach since I was there friday as well but unfortunately we didn‘t bump into each other. So many amazing products to try though. Loved that you tried our regional Lammsbräu beer in the beginning.

We were in Nurnberg in the summer and coincidetely had the best vegan dinner (we are not vegan). But it was the only gluten free option and the sushi was amazing! Omg I am Slovenian and didn't expect our country to be represented here.

I can't remember if you have or not in the past but I would love some videos about vegan food alternatives, recipes, dishes, etc etc. I unfortunately really love meat and dairy products and am struggling to figure out easy non-animal meals and snacks for myself. I may go on a video/internet hunt for ideas regardless.

THIS! What a lovely video. As an New Yorker who has moved to Copenhagen, I was quite shocked to see how society here favors organic meat and animal products over vegan. Not just grocery stores but those cool "boutique" bakeries, restaurants, etc. Hence why the vegan culture is very much lacking in CPH. A lot of people here see vegan food as "having a lot of E numbers" and being "too processed" and thereby organic animal products being healthier/more sustainable. Really hoping this mentality changes soon.

That balsamic fountain made me smile. But I’m happy you got to try so many good vegan cheeses! Those recipes have been improving the most in my lifetime. Two biggest evolvers are vegan cheese and nail polish technology lol
Yes, art is a need. Visual stimulation is as important as other things and as long as you can afford it and have space for it, I see nothing wrong with it. I've stopped buying simply because I AM out of space LOL! But that piece is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! ROFL at the whole mustache thing. The candy looked so good and I love the idea of paper packaging, bring it back!

The vegan cheese variety got me (and your love for Frittenwerk, they are amazing, since the pendamic they improved their menu with a lot of tasty veggie and vegan options and you can find them in so many bigger german cities, their sweet potato fries are also amazing) ❤ It all looked so good 🙂 And glad you've got the bronze lady, it is such a special piece that will look great wherever you decide to put it (maybe in the entryway?).
Gittamarie, I would like to know, as of 2025, what are the most important things you wish you knew before starting your vegan journey from a medical standpoint. Are there still supplements you need to take because your eating habits don't support it? I'm genuinely curious, so I'm weighing all my options.
