From Van to Vineyard: A Luxury Campsite Experience in Bordeaux

In our latest adventure, we took our Sprinter van to the famous Bordeaux wine region of France and were pleasantly surprised by the charming village of Saint-Émilion. We also stumbled upon a hidden gem of a campsite at a small winery, where we indulged in delicious wine, a gourmet cheese board, and even had our own private jacuzzi! To top it all off, we installed our new Starlink for seamless internet access on the road.

Here’s a glimpse of our Bordeaux experience:

Exploring Saint-Émilion: This medieval village is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its stunning architecture, underground caves, and world-renowned wines. We wandered through its cobblestone streets, admired the beautiful churches and chateaus, and visited a few local wineries to sample the region’s finest wines.

Relaxing at a Hidden Winery: We discovered a charming campsite nestled within a picturesque vineyard, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and we enjoyed spending the evening sipping wine, eating delicious food, and soaking in the hot tub.

Installing Starlink: As full-time van lifers, staying connected is essential. Curt installed Starlink on the back of our van, providing us with high-speed internet access no matter where we are in the world. This will be a game-changer, allowing us to stay in touch with friends and family, work remotely, and share our adventures with our followers.

  1. Glad to see you back but, I have to say that you guys seems to have changed your video formats. Not so much the fun loving aspect as in South America. You’ve added more history in a very sedate way. Have fun guys.

  2. Wow!! What a great video. I've really missed you guys! Your charcuterie board looked wonderful, it made me hungry. Just finished my breakfast of a honey bun and large glass of chocolate milk! Can hardly wait to see your next one! Luv U Guys ❤

  3. That vineyard's 100Euro pricetag was WELL worth every cent! With good French wine, you really do get the benefit of centuries of experience in extracting the best the grape – and the vigneron's skill – can offer. Happy you got to appreciate that.

  4. Thanks for this beautiful view of a historic French town that's not on everyone's list to visit.
I keep thinking about your proposed journey to west Africa. Can you really do that safely? So many places on Earth are in the midst of one kind of crisis or another…
