Gamers who have dabbled beyond just Yu-Gi-Oh might recall the Duke from Resident Evil 8, and how he would tell the player “Food is life.” Chef Anthony Bourdain once said something similar: “Food is everything that we are,” and taking things way back, we have the words of French musician, writer, and gastronome Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin: “Tell me what you eat and I will tell you who you are.” Food is a cultural artifact that absorbs our thoughts and feelings and reflects the emotional and tangible conditions under which it is made. But if food is a repository for our hopes, it is also a sponge for our fears and misgivings. This is a video about food, and fiends, and Yu-Gi-Oh.

Nouvelles Grommet Hungry Burger (DARK)
Level 6
Fiend/Ritual/Effect
This card's name becomes "Hungry Burger" while in the hand, Deck, GY, or on the field. You can Ritual Summon this card with “Grommet Burger Recipe”. If this card is Special Summoned in a way that isn’t a proper Ritual Summon; That summon is treated as a Ritual Summon. Can make additional attacks per Battle Phase for every Face-up “Nouvelles” card you control. If a “Nouvelles” monster you control attacks a defense position monster, inflict piercing battle damage. If this card is Tributed or used as Material; You can gain LP equal to it’s original ATK/DEF.

Grommet Burger Recipe Ritual Spell
This card can be used to Ritual Summon any number of “Hungry Burger” Ritual Monsters from your hand and/or GY. You must also Pay LP equal to half the Combined Total Original ATK/DEF of the Ritual Monster(s) you Ritual Summon. You can Banish this card from your hand or GY, then Target 1 monster your opponent controls: If that Target leaves the field before the end phase of your next turn; Special Summon 1 “Nouvelles” monster from your hand, Deck or Pendulum Zones, who’s level is equal to or less that that Targets Level/Rank/Link.

Pretty sure you can actually see Kozaky's skull in the explosion on Overworked. The only other card I know of that depicts a monster getting their face blasted off is Heat Wave, and that one's even more graphic about it.

NGL, I only realized just now that Just Desserts' art was of a pig-like demon creature. I always thought it was a giant ape, with the shadows as fur.

I run nouvelle's and it is hands down my favourite deck I have ever played. They are crazy versatile and they are able to get out great links so quickly
One thing that I dont understand is why Konami connects Hungry Burger, which is cooked by Fiend, with Nouvelle (and Patissciel), which is cooked by human-like Fairy.
And even till now, Patissciel is just one fusion pendulum card mentioned in one Nouvelle

Just Desserts doesn't change spelling for the idiom. Deserts are completely different from Desserts
I'm surprised you didn't mention that the names of the Nouvelles ritual monsters are portmanteaus of real French dishes and demons from the Ars Goetia.

I love these cards. Makes me think of the time I drew Hungry Burger and Bistro Butcher for my dad cuz he worked at a few restaurants when I was growing up.
In honor of Rush format supposedly (at the time of this post) putting Ritual Monsters in the Extra Deck, Top 10 Best Ritual Monsters that would benefit from this if it was brought over to the base format.
Really surprised to not see the token celebration series of cards where they show goblins which are mostly fiends hunting and eating tokens like scapegoats

4:19 I know I'm being engagement baited to 'uh actually', but the 'deserts' in 'just deserts' isn't 'desert' as in a dry place. It has the same root as 'deserve' as in a 'desert is a thing you deserve'. A just desert is a punishment you deserved to receive.
So… You know howw "gluttony" is one of the 7 deadly sins? What if Konami is just taking that a bit too literally, by having so many food-related cards be DARK-attribute or Fiend-type monsters or just really evil-looking…
