Quick note. I’m including all of this info because when I was starting out, I found it really difficult to figure out what gear to use, so I’m hoping if there’s anyone looking to set up for YouTube, this might help. If you need more help just email me, kev at coffeeblog.co.uk – if I don’t know the answer I’ll ask the professionals.

I’m listing the current setup first that the pros are using, and then my original more budget setup.

  1. Again first! Thanks again for the great content🎉 quick q – looking into getting a df54 but wondering if I should wait for black friday to get a discount on it (if thats even possible lol)

  2. I started with a French Press almost 40 years ago, getting my whole beans from Costa Coffee.
I was grinding them using a coffee grinder attachment on a Kenwood Chef.
    Very informative videos. Great work.😊

  3. First got into real coffee with Lidl's Bellarom Gold ground coffee, like all their coffee it's foul. The only supermarket coffee I buy now is from M & S, their Kenyan Micro Lot beans are good if I'm out of Coffeeworks beans. Normally have it as flat white using whole milk with a little double cream.

  4. I love my bean to cup machine but I maintain that a well made cup of instant L'Or coffee beats any of the rubbish you'll get in Starbucks, Costa, Nero et al.

  5. I used to think all coffee tasted the same … rubbish! Then i discovered 'real' coffee and realised it was instant coffee that i hated. Now an avid 'real' coffee drinker. Knocks tea out the park. My next challenge is to prove this to my son. I think I'll get him the Aeropress to start his journey. Thanks Kev

  6. Ah, you're of a similar age to me, very similar in coffee journey, just much deeper down the rabbit hole! Nice to see a nod to Rave Coffee, one of my faves, along with Coffeeworks of course 😊

  7. I sent an email over to CWorks this week about getting my aero press brew right after buying some of their coffee, they were really helpful!

Got it tasting much better and the Nescafé has finally gone in the bin! 😂 This video has come at the perfect time! Cheers Kev! 👏

  8. Hi do you have a link for the aeropress and grinder bundle that you mentioned please? I can’t seem to see this in the description

  9. Great vlog,
My wife bought me an Aeropress a few years ago, when I was a full time HGV driver, it meant I had great coffee whenever I wanted it,
As service stations can not make coffee and it costs a fortune 😂
    Now I’m retired,
We carry with us in our camper van,
    And on bike trips,
    Great product 👌

  10. Well done on providing a straightforward truth of why instant coffee is a waste of time. I liked your explanation of setup/start-up costs and a nice hack as a bonus. It's good to know it doesn't take £100's to start the journey towards delicious fresh coffee. Would you be willing to do a V60 or Hario Switch tutorial? Keep up the great work!

  11. Great vids good info. Need to update my Delonghi i have about £700 to spend so many on the market but which one for the biggest bang?
