welcome back to K now we’re Catherine Scott and if this is your first time visiting us welcome we found the world’s best pizza in Mexico first let us take you on a little tour of some of our favorite restaurants in [Music] Mera we’re at Elario restaurant in Meda it’s near Pasto de monteo [Music] [Music] I have ordered a breakfast sandwich um normally it comes with smoked meat but I got the vegetarian version version which is H with mushrooms instead and it looks amazing this this homemade bios FN yeah I’m going to have to just take a bite the the cheese I think they said it was a a menonite cheese any the bun is so buttery the mushrooms taste somewhat smoked as well and then it comes with seasoned potatoes which I’ve already tasted and they’re very good too really nicely seasoned a little bit salty um kind a little bit peppery too but very good I’m going to enjoy this so I got uh French toast and it’s made with housemade Bread House baked bread uh a berry com there’s granola on it fresh berries [Music] and like a heavy a heavy cream with s in a where do I start oh the bread just crumbles not crumbles it’s delicate on here [Music] fresh very good really fresh fresh fresh b cook the Perfection I’m going to eat now all right El Bar restaurant is a two thumbs up the atmosphere is really cute and definite friendly service and I absolutely loveed my breakfast yep Kathy’s favorite meal of the day is breakfast and I think this ranks pretty highly on her favorite it does restaurants and I didn’t even know but it’s organic comfort food is what they say so I mean yeah perfect for me cool so Elario is very close to Paso monteo it’s just one street um that it runs parallel that way I think no p d was one street that way people will be able to tell on the video but it’s very close and so if you happen to be in Mera uh close to the Paso de mono try [Music] rest we’re at J 47 it’s a rooftop restaurant um in Merida a little bit out of the way of Centro but I think it’s going to be worth [Music] it I am having a because when you’re at a gy place you have rum I’m having a drink called Coco NaNa which has got coconut water um pineapple and coconut and a roasted pineapple with Florida Canya rum it’s very pretty [Music] yeah it’s really [Music] good it’s like a Pia colada but better I got a Morita which is Bulldog gy blueberry basil and lemon juice and it com served much like a um Moscow Mule in a copper cut so I’m going to give it a shot here [Music] oh oh know I wasted some well that’s very good though yeah yeah I’m going to drink now I ordered a saracha p pasta and it comes with a skewer of uh shrimp Scott’s going to get that skewer but um it also comes with caramelized peanuts which is something I’m really excited about I don’t know why but well yeah I do I do [Music] but even just take in that peanut is making me know I’m going to love this dinner I’ll just take a little bite of the pasta oh that is a flavor I haven’t had for a really long time um oh it’s a spicy one but it’s a um Tangy spicy and bit sweet with that bit of peanut cilantro it’s like it’s like a um Asian dish that I haven’t had for a really long time it is really good I got steak tacos and they come with um like grilled cheese inside inside the taco shell so it’s a taco shell lined with cheese crusty crusty cheese and the Stak inside that and there’s it’s garnished with a a radish and some green stuff but oh it’s a cheese pardon me it’s steak and onions it smells really good oh and it’s also got an avocado moose moose [Applause] [Music] [Music] yeah it’s really good the oh the cheese with the steak and the onions really go well together I kind of feel like a kind of feel like a meaning A variation of a a Mexican te sandwich but it’s a delicious and it also comes with I think that’s ranch dip which I think I’m going to give it a shot in a minute and align speech on top of it I’m going to eat now all right Jin 47 is in the sky building if you’re looking for it um and there there wasn’t any signage outside so it wasn’t as easy to find but once you know where the sky is you just come on in into the lobby and go up to the eighth floor there’s about six or eight restaurants up here so you have your your peg of restaurants to choose I recommend J 47 though it was excellent the benefit of being in a restaurant on the top of the building is get a view of the entire city of Meda uh looking towards progress me we fig that’s where we were we think we were looking at another thing was this was a recommendation by our friend Mike and it was an excellent recommendation so so if you are in this area it would be U probably advised to come and check it out thanks wife probably s [Laughter] too we um we had a little late night last [Applause] thing and so we’re talking a little bit quietly this morning and um just enjoying our cappuccino at pan and coffee it’s pan and coffee is a restaurant was close to P mono uh and it’s just actually a walk away from the main drive very beautiful here and both going to have expended it which is our favorite so eagerly anticipating that breakfast while we sit away at our tapos and hope that they [Music] [Music] [Music] okay time to dig into breakfast which looks delicious uh it’s um actually vegetarian um so the EG sping come with comes with an English muffin avocado slices course the post steak all and um the salad uh I should mention that c i both got ccino we’re basically mirroring each up here this morning I got a fresh these D ju and it is absolutely delicious it’s absolutely fresh and um just the r sweetness and Tang so right now I’m going to dig into my perfectly cooked poached eggs and take a bite with this egg egg we both have a cravan break is funny so the English Puffin is lightly toasted um and the hollay sauce is very buttery it’s really good a good flavor it’s not too not too citrusy um yeah more of a butterly flavor really good salad I would try my salad really good just vegetables Happ says tomato salad Rish beets pineapple and tomato and the salad well I have to get some of that okay as far as Sal go that is pretty good okay I’m going to eat now so while we were in the restaurant I wasn’t prepared to talk until at least I’d had a coffee I ended up having two cappuccinos and I’m more than willing to talk now it was she’s talking on two times speed right now it’s uh an excellent restaurant um they have delicious eggs benedict and um lots of pastries too we ended up taking four to eat later I’m sure they’re going to be excellent yep so that’s lunch breakfast yeah lunch and breakfast tomorrow I was going to say dinner too but no I eat way more than that snack today possibly breakfast tomorrow yeah we’s see so pan and coffee close to the um de mono and that’s where we’re going to go [Music] next we are in uh Tratoria Italian restaurant on Paso de monteo in Meda this is the third time we’ve been here in just as many weeks I think it’s one of our favorites now there’s awesome pasta the bread that comes out at the beginning is delicious but I think what what takes the cake is what Scott has ordered every time and that is fried pizza apparently they have it here in Merida on P de mono in tror and the only other place you can get it allegedly is in Napoli in Italy fried pizza it’s like a czone it’s folded over and it’s fried and it’s a heart attack on wa but it’s incredibly [Music] [Music] awesome [Music] fin um anything pesto basil of course I’m going to love this p I’ve already had before but it is so delicious the smells are so aromatic garlic and basil it’s one of the best pastos I’ve [Music] had so this pizza is called down Maro I think anyway but it’s like a lasagna it’s like a pizza stuff with lasagna so there’s B sauce there’s I think it’s Marone cheese and more Bonet sauce and it’s it’s very hot and I never my but it’s so [Music] delicious oh sauce is fantastic it’s really good it’s like just just the right great flavor me in there and the chees like how gooey really good you got to come [Music] toor the pizza one to get the goo cuz it was just so big I could not finish it but I have I have dinner for tomorrow really delicious muo so here is caby drinking a cappuccino at 7:30 at night that’s [Music] sacr and it tastes good see that’s because you’re not supposed to order a capuccino afternoon I Break The Rules it tastes good it smells smells good whereas I’m having a proper opportunity I’m having a z cello proper [Music] Italian is a restaurant that’s close to thanks for watching
