During my final day in Antananarivo, Madagascar! I visited a gourmet chocolate shop to buy and try gourmet chocolates from Madgascar. Madgascar is known for its amazing vanilla and also grows cacao which is used for making chocolate. The name of the shop is La Chocolaterie Robert located in one of the main districts of the city! A lovely French woman named Veronica was there to help me choose the best chocolates and she helped me with her French speaking skills with the salesperson!
good morning everybody I’m here on my final day of uh in antenna of Revo and I’m here at the LA chocolatier shop and I’m going to buy some chocolates here for my trip uh apparently they have the best uh cow here or some of the best chocolate in the world that’s grown here and uh I want to take some back here to the states and as gifts as you can see variety here all these and vanilla is uh really fantastic out here in Madagascar so I want to try to get some chocolate here with vanilla and um you know uh take it back here as some gifts and see everything here I’m going to get some chocolate bars here I’ll probably buy some of these here I can speak English I can you if you want okay great I I want to take some of these back here to uh the states as gifts so I wanted to know what he recommends uh what’s the best one with vanilla uh maybe I can get like uh so vanilla you have this one yeah you see well and also here so this is you see it’s it’s a it’s just play this is with ilong you know ilong I don’t know what isong is a it’s it’s like a local leaf with where they use it for everything for you know essential essential oil you know that oh really okay it’s even edible too yeah it’s yeah so it’s the canilla no the cinnamon okay cinnamon CH well and this these are two different brands two different type this one is bit uh more expensive oh really okay I will ask okay quality thise um let’s see here and then you have here so you see it’s 70% of cacao this one you know this one and there are different kinds you know because there is and this MAA and this is made with vanilla too right and and this one is uh but white white it’s white white chocolate you like white chocolate yeah I like I like white chocolate yeah but that’s also made with vanilla too right so this one is vanilla this one is Elon and this one is cinnamon okay all all are white three of them are white all right then this one is milk chocolate right and this is like black chocolate you know when it’s like 70% of chocolate all these ones they are like black chocolates okay and then this is the 100% here so yeah so if you like it because it’s very special 100% yeah I like dark chocolate yeah it’s good for your health too this yeah so if you like that plate I would recommend you this one this is the the my favorite this this one here the the 85% okay this it’s like the 100 but you want to try the 100 yeah yeah let’s do that okay and this one you I don’t know if you cook with chocolate no I don’t cook but I do and when I come here are you a che excuse me are you a chef no not I just know the French are really good for food I’m not a chef but each each time I come here I buy this one because it’s really really good for cooking you know making cakes and know chocolate mousse or whatever oh wow do you live in Paris no no I live in south of France South the Mars or something T delus okay gotcha okay cool um all right so I’ll get uh Miss okay can I get your translating to Istanbul andan to Los Angeles to where sorry to uh Los Angeles yes but before so I got some of these Gourmet chocolates here as you can see and uh I think I’ll probably get % of the cacao and I think that should do it I’ve been to India you know yeah been to stes but I’ve been to India two or three times yeah yeah it’s a it’s a it’s a wonderful country to uh it’s never the same place twice no yeah it’s it’s it’s really it it it’s growing so much every time I go there so wow look at all these chocolates here though these are all if you want to make like a really nice present to someone you can also you know buy this kind of uh um mixture you a box and you choose your chocolate and they make oh yeah they make a a gift box or something or something yeah I’ll probably just stick with the [Laughter] bars oh he’s bringing out some more here all right okay and uh let me get um five of those 100% ones and this is really good quality chocolate right yeah I mean you the co the caca plant the caca plant though here that’s grown here is very very good compared have you ever tried it from South America you know is it better here than South America or regarding about Chate it’s different different is it different okay okay I guess you could tell him I guess that’s it and he can ring me up so it’s okay for yeah everything is good yeah okay can you package it up nicely for uh so like a paper bag like this yeah that’ll be fun okay yeah all right let’s see he’s going to ring me up look at all that chocolate here and the name of the place uh ah since you 1914 yeah it’s been around since 1940 this place or there quality of chocolate so let’s see how much this comes out too here going have to pay with credit card it looks like so this is probably like the only souvenir I
