are celebrating a national holiday
that’s right it is a national holiday
you might be surprised to know but it is
national French Friday so we’re gonna
celebrate five different ways we’re
going to show you five different ways to
make french fries at home starting with
Jeanette she’s gonna show you what are
you making I’m just cutting up some
sweet potatoes I’m gonna make some
roasted sweet potato fries that you can
actually franchise you can eat for
dinner tonight I posed with the
challenge and I delivered I’m gonna show
you guys how to eat some french fries
for dinner tonight but first I’m gonna
start with some curly fries look how
funny is I only um before we get started
we also want to know what do you guys
like what kind of french fries do you
like to make a home we want to know how
you guys make them I’m sorry to show you
five people ways that we do it but yeah
I don’t know from you what are you guys
cooking at home how are you celebrating
national French fry day hopefully if you
didn’t have any ideas you’ll get some
ideas from two of us today all right so
I’m gonna show you guys how to make some
baked curly fries curly fries are
probably my favorite french fry I love
french fries I’m like I they’re like
probably my favorite food
um so I’ve always looking for different
ways to eat them when it’s not
necessarily cheap day so I’m sure you’re
gonna make baked curly fries so these
are just ran thirds you guys have
watched Facebook live before you know I
am quite the fan of a spiralizing pool
I’ve made noodles I’ve made I’m trying
to doodle I’d make spiral eyes cucumbers
so today in my spiralizing tool i just
throw in some russet potatoes oh I’m
speaking of first I need to drop my
fries look for those fries so what I did
actually yesterday we were testing on
different methods of making cakes cries
and
I wish see if we if there’s getting
difference in the crispness of the baked
fry if you put it in some water first by
soaking for about 30 minutes to about an
hour and you can really see I mean
there’s a little bit of dirt in here
because I didn’t create a toe you should
wash your potatoes first but what
happens is all the starch from the
potatoes comes out in the water and then
that’s not going to find soap it’s not
gonna get soaked into the fryer it’s in
the oven so yeah it’s gonna be a really
nice room skorsky fry and it’s baked
they’re not fried and that’s what you’re
looking for is you anger when you’re
watching everybody watching you’re
watching you guys know that’s a manager
how you guys like to make your french
fries comment away all right so now now
that they took a little bath they need
to dry off so we’re gonna just Pat them
dry so there’s no more moisture on them
you know when we throw them in the oven
you don’t be too soggy
so you just dry them off really nicely
oh goodness what’s your favorite kind of
french fry I thought you were gonna ask
well my favorite was a year ago on
Facebook like we actually did a french
fry episode and I made three different
shake fries it and I made these hot
fries which are based off of a recipe
at this restaurant whatever they like so
I love a really super hot spicy fried
those work that I never asked you for a
hot fire fries they’re called yes what’s
your favorite uh my favorite kind of fry
I actually think I made them on that
same one we I meet the disco fries I’m
from New Jersey yeah and a disco fry
actually it’s funny Caroline from
Ontario just commented that she loves
for poutine I want to say disco fries
are like a little not wink and a nod to
poutine it’s just some mozzarella and
grated ode to poutine the Jersey way so
yeah it’s pretty in Jersey style exactly
so it’s like they’re like steak fries
and they’re covered with gravy and
mozzarella my absolute favorite way of
eating them um Kanye is watching from

so now I’ve got these all dried off and
on the sheets right I didn’t break them
up and my spiralizing told kind of made
them really long when I was testing them
it was just kind of fun to break them
apart I didn’t want to make good olive
it just I thought the girls were so
pretty earlier step one I am just gonna
put maybe about two or three tablespoons
of olive oil on there is seasoned with
curly fries everywhere you that’s how
you know its national french fry day
there’s toys everywhere a little bit of
sauce since today I am making regular
fries and sweet potato fries which do
you guys prefer what do you prefer but
if you’re learning yes sweet potato
regulars right you know I always think I
like regular better because when I think
of prices but I think up but then when
you propose the question of like see me
regularly I don’t know I know it’s a
hard question
my works with diner in college and or in
high school actually and we used to
serve sweet potato fries with caramel
sauce oh they were like no surprise they
were so good regular fried but
so look and I kind of like the sweet
potato fries like you’ve got that a
little bit more of a health aspect and
like you know kind of a bag but I know
the regular French arms kind of speaks
to my heart right and that’s all about
balance guys did it make some baked
fries and then you don’t worry about not
having subber says hello from Alabama hi
summer a little summer all right so
while we were discussing sweet potato
fries because it wasn’t my favorite um I
just did a little bit olive oil salt
pepper and then I just season it up with
a little bit of smoky paprika some onion
powder and garlic powder
oh yeah so why don’t you get toss these
i preheat my oven to like 450 degrees I
really crank it it is such a hot day in
New York actually I was thinking about
this today probably not a day in New
York I put my oven on the last time you
did this I wrote a grilled french fry
recipe also up on our website about to
make french fries on your grill it’s
review or it’s really warm where you
guys you’re good today so I’m gonna toss
these in the oven Jeanette when you come
back Susan is asking does it have to be
olive oil I don’t think so you can
definitely use for my coconut oil spray
or some canola oil just think of nice
and crispy I need all of the trends to
keep things a little bit healthier and
later Sonia says that she loves sweet
potato rice Sonia you got to stick
around we’re making some fun stay with
you I know look at these so thank you
can I have it sure big this is burning
my hands um thank you grandma
so look at these like you put some
really nice crispy pieces yeah I don’t
even leave these in the oven for another
minute or two
yeah I really wanted items you guys know
crispy buddy oh there’s some on the
bottom that need a few more minutes will

grapeseed oil definitely Thank You
Valerie I’m speaking puffy I’m gonna fry
up some french fries now like I said
before last year on Facebook like we did
a French fries so then they made three
for cheap price if you’re not familiar
with the shake right basically what you
do is you fry your french fries you
could bake them as well you basically
just want to cook them get up nice and
hot and then throw them into a big brown
paper bag and throw some seasoning in
there and just shake them up so I’m
gonna show you three different ways to
do that the first one I’m really excited
about because I’m a chef one station I
actually was really unfamiliar with just
one until I worked here and Rachel
really like chef Lynette
if you don’t know what they are they’re
these little peppercorns they look just
like kind of like pink pepper but they
have a little bit of a spice to them but
they have to say tingly thing that
happens and makes your mouth channel
it’s this really interesting flavor and
Rachel he makes continually beef she
does take away people one of my favorite
surprise that she’s our maid
since it’s fun to say yeah just one
peppercorns are like stir-fried together
it’s super yummy
she also makes this really yummy Dan
Dennett but I thought this is a fun way
to season lunch fries I’ve never had one
friend works out when I try it today
yesterday I hope they’re really really
good at child so this spice grinder I
have some Szechuan peppercorns some red
chili flake just for the spice that I’m
gonna add a little bit of granulated
garlic – when’s the high – Magda she’s
watching from Egypt and then of course
we need to add some salt you always know
salt your french fries and a tablespoon
or teaspoon of salt down into there and

I use that very very often – I didn’t
know I knew that woman – like I love
anyone’s to know what kind of potatoes
if you think those are just some rustic
yeah he’s definitely a
so you dropping in advising good yeah

right so I’ve already fried up some
clinical price these are still nice and
hot I’m gonna put them down there you
guys are just not tuning in today I’m
making some shake fries and our spice
mix group here is shuffling peppercorns
some red pepper flakes and some dried
garlic a little bit and you might add

look at that look yummy that looks
immediate name we’re gonna have like a
tingly hot fry you want something cool
to dip it in right so I have some this
is like an Asian mayonnaise right here
we could use just regular mayonnaise we
have this in the fridge though I think
my father comes in please
sesame oil to that just to give it a
nice just change ingredient things that
really had so much yeah it’s one of
those things I always keep in my country
because it adds like a nice it’s very
flavorful it’s like a nice flavor
there’s a refrigerator you know it’s
funny I was I’m using
rice vinegar class yeah and I always
keep that my fridge and it was like do I
need to put this in the fridge I always
do you need more I keep this America
reader tails we need to do some research
on the ticket I’m starting to mix in
some black sesame and here’s our first
shake prices is just one number corn
fried with some yeah some sesame
mayonnaise be very careful with these
because they aren’t spicy and they want
to go quite a while I’m getting spicy
and tingling that is delicious for that

don’t even need to platter I’m gonna see

make this beautiful mayonnaise dipping
sauce I kind of find that I mean since
I’m such a french fry aficionado
apparently the dipping is almost as the
dipping sauce is almost as important as
like what you’re what you’re making with
your french fries yeah so I just feel
like these are just kind of traditional
curly fries I just have been in touch oh
oh good catch I know where are some of
your favorite french fried dippers I

for a second recipe now I just want to
I’m doing these are some sliced
pepperonis right here and I’m gonna
throw these into the fryer with my
french fries because we’re gonna make
eight pizzas right right after this you
just people except I am some pepperoni
pizza pub and I mean I hope oh my gosh I
love pizza and french fries might be my
two favorite foods I could probably live
up coast I’m so I’m enjoying that you’re
providing them alright so like I said I
was gonna show you guys a recipe that
you can make for dinner tonight that
would still be on theme’ french fry day
so these are my sweet potato and nacho
cries and it’s funny there’s a
restaurant by myself and they have tacos
and nachos if I got a Mexican restaurant
and when you order french fries they say
you can either get french fries nacho
style or you can get nachos nachos style
and I’ve always kind of tempted to get
the French fries nacho so just cuz I
love fries and I love nachos so today
I’m gonna show you how to make these at
home I think you so I know some of you
were saying that you love sweet potato
fries so i’ma show you how to make
roasted sweet potato fries so they’re so
pretty healthy they’re not deep fried
but I’m gonna flavor is not kind of like
a taco and then I’m gonna cover them and
all the fun things that I chose honesty
was asking do you fry the fries twice
I’m actually is in frozen french fries
so those are already tried once so I
guess technically I am gentlemen if
you’re gonna make them at home and
grenade some fresh potatoes like Joe is
saying a great way to do that is to fry
them at a low temperature for a couple
minutes take them out of the heat and
then put them in a higher temperature
for just a minute more just a really
good mix and crispy you like poke them
in the world yeah then we have a nice
soft potato pathetic crispy on efficient
I think Rachael has a couple fries
she yeah but she always cries her is
twice as well yes zach is a schemes
Rachael and the Rachael studio in NY

we’re actually gearing up for season 12
I know that’s crazy store today and burn
are gonna be booking audiences so go

around just like the food everywhere
there’s spots there’s pans lots of fun
come on make sure you come hungry
there’s plenty of food all right just to
catch you guys up on what I did with you
sweet potato fries but I just cut it
down and maybe about two pounds of some
sweet potatoes and you know ski videos
are so so so healthy for you I usually
leave the skins on I find that I like
the texture and I also like that add
some more nutritional value to it so I
just chopped up a sweet potato any shape
you like I kind of like you just like
Wednesday’s and then I just seasoned it
with a little I just put on some olive
oil again but again like one of our
viewers were saying you can use avocado
oil or any kind of oil you guys have
then I season with a little bit of salt
and pepper and like I said I used the
kind of the same seasonings you’ll find
that a taco packet there’s a little
coriander a little cumin a little chili
powder and then I just toss these in a
super hot oven as well so that they get
all roasty and toasty maybe like 450 425
450 for like I would say like 15 to 20
minutes go in there flip them around so
that they get crispy on all the
different sides and then maybe another
15 20 minutes they’re nice and crispy I
bets I’m working in the oven but I’m in
a properties in the oven I have sweet
potatoes with taco seasoning on it these
people – they’re so like sweet delicious
but then you have that spicy we talked
about this all the time some of our
favorite Rachael Rachael makes us great
quesadilla is yeah but that’s a great
sweet potato and chorizo and black beans
and just the most delicious
so it’s so so good you might open in the
oven for me this one yes ass dip in a
chocolate shake that’s a funny
conversation yeah I actually on the
Facebook live not too long ago we
some fast-food stakeouts and I made a
chocolate shake that you can dip French
fries into that’s on our website
certainly and then I’ll post it down
there leader off so then it’s time to
repeat the price yeah I think it’s ready
oh I just grabbed my fries of the fryer
back here just to catch you guys up the
next shake priority I’m going to make is
a pepperoni pizza fry crispy fries into
the fryer at the last couple minutes I
added in some slice of pepperoni shake
them up what you guys can’t see behind
the camera right here is that there are
really good fun of these bags just
hanging on the rack of the women other
grants this when you roll at home just
like tons of bags always ready for a
fresh really like I don’t know why I
started doing this but I like using
brown paper bags so make sure you keep
your pad for your paper nice you’re just
start selling rubbish so in here we have
our french fries and our some grated
Parmesan cheese are we gonna have pizza
without Parmesan cheese that you’re not
that’s how some grated or granulated
garlic that goes down there

I gonna burn a piece of plates you’re a

we are both today grant Barnes has paint
a really interesting question I feel
like we get a lot as we on since we work
here for Rachel what happens to all the
food on the show so it’s very
interesting I would say you know that we
have to make a lot of different swap
outs for Rachel’s so there’s a always
tons of tons of food around I would say
that everyone in the kitchen and a lot
of people on our staff eat pretty well
you know we have some really great great
lunches we’re very very lucky and at the
end of the week we do a big donation on
Friday to City Harvest which is in the
city and they come and take all of our
leftover food and then they feed the
homeless or all around New York City
goes to waste all right now I need to
beat sprite in the best part about these
I love those pepperonis on top of the
pizza that have maybe been in the oven
two years ago right here steamed crunchy
it’s like a pepperoni chew its like a
pepperoni Jeff Wow fun food nation
convention said do you make your own
seasoned salt or do you buy it I’m
actually making my own seasoned salt
here today by just you know seasoning up
some salt but I think french fries are a
great vehicle for like whatever you like
sorry there’s a seasoned fry that are a
seasoned salt that you really like just
put on your ice Steve commented sentence

well there’s one more shake fry so rusty
oh my goodness I can stand here if you
guys want to just watch on live watch us
eat pepper any fighters for the next 20
minutes trip these are delicious

potato fries with them me grab those
clothes out of the oven I’m gonna drop
my last right into the fryer we can make
our flats flavor which is a taco frying

cheese makes everything better right no
I think so all right I think we’ve got
our like five fries but there’s a few

single portion today and I’m gonna top
it with a little bit cheese with some
cheddar cheese when I’m using cheese I
really like to use a really sharp
cheddar so you don’t have to lose too
much of it I know we all love a ton of
cheese but if you’re trying to be a
little bit health friendly conscious I’m
just a little bit cheese with you I’m
gonna pop you back in the oven which
clearly is very very hot since it
burning these french fries um and then I
think we’re gonna get started on the
third shake right we are area yeah I’m
super my last trick my last shake I’m
going to make a taco ride with the case
of recipe I’m actually using is great
just as a recipe yeah
every year she has
yeah Rachael’s team Esther was okay so
on everything everything okay so I
promise okay so on corn
okay so on nachos like you you name it
there was a dope hi right there was time
and that was like my favorite snack it’s
like can you imagine just like watching
your favorite band eating a giant s are
my own – Rachel’s case of Todd some
things are gonna be case of french fries
so the fries are still frying up so I
throw the seasonings down into here
excellent or basically just make your
own taco seasoning grab our buns don’t
either of us have cookbooks we do not
but since we’ve been doing Facebook like
I feel like we’ve written so so many
recipes which you can go up get up on
Rachael Ray Show calm yeah they’re all

we were just joking today that we’ve got
so many french fry recipe that they’re I
guess it’s we could just sell my French
baguette

so I don’t know if you guys want to the
show but I traditionally make Rachel’s
toast because Rachel the notorious for
burning her bread so she’s hired me
hopefully that phone call wasn’t really
defined every other was gonna have
some burnt bread then so yeah I don’t
burn bread but apparently I burned sweet
potatoes we were just having so much fun
I was so distracted by how many French
racks were yeah I kind of forgot about
so down into my brown paper bag I just
kind of made my own taco seasoning you
have some cumin some chili a little bit
of of course some added a little bit of
salt back here I think he’s so yes but
he feeis this look for Mexico hello

oh my gosh I’m gonna dip a pizza fried
okay so you can’t love a dog yeah why
not
mmm slick good so this is Rachel’s
recipe for queso which will post later
she uses like American cheese cheddar
cheese

and these are like miso taco priced well
that human hits your nose first
so I’m Joanna’s commenting she sent

guys are here it smells so so good in
here it’s a pen right on top of my taco
seasoned fries I’m just gonna add
Rachel’s and then you could just atop
these like you talked nachos if you want
some lettuce and jalapeno can i top them
like i can’t have not just so that i get
my fries cuz i have all the makings to
top them like nachos clearly we are live
in the Rachael Ray Show prep kitchen I’m
Jeanette this is my friend Graham and I
burned my french fries so we’re gonna
top grants beautiful taco nacho fries
with all of the toppings that I was
gonna talk my sweet potato fries with
can I try that she is fried see people
are like what’s your favorite french fry
all kinds of frenchers are maybe your
interest but she is fries are certainly
out there let’s work on our topping must
have been our toppings but that didn’t
work out so well I have the recipe
online I promise the recipes right then
we’ll post a pretty picture of it a
little bit later so you could see that
and all of the recipes that we made
today so what I was going to do is
actually I was gonna top it great you
want to chop a little bit of this
lettuce we love a nice thinly sliced
lettuce to go on top of there to make
them nacho fries and then I’m just gonna
make a little topping this is what a
thing I do did the Mexican put a little
bit healthier is I need instead of sour
cream I use Greek yogurt please just
some 0% Greek yogurt a little bit of
cumin and then I’m gonna put in a little
lime juice I just put this on top of my
nachos all the time it’s like a nice
kind of smoky kind of sweet and you kind
of don’t even realize it’s not done it’s
nice and healthy high protein Greek
yogurt and then here I just made a
little bit of pico de gallo which was
just tomato onion cilantro lime juice
jalapeno kind of all done the players in
Pico all right I’m gonna let you talk
the fries since I clearly not doing so
well first let’s go with our sour cream
baby
yeah little sour cream and then I’ve got
some challah pickled jalapenos we’re
just running our favorite
let’s just do some dialects of oh sorry
Greek yogurt it’s okay
it’s sour cream you can pull your whole
your family and nobody will know um barb
wants to know have you done fries with
sausage gravy no bark bark to nano a
year from what’s today is it July 14 13
its July 13th so enjoy happy July 13th
we’ll be back here next July 13th making
sausage two crazy fries that sounds
delicious
