Well, the price of food has been one of the driving forces behind inflation. Nowadays it seems impossible to find a meal under $15.00. Even the price of fast food is going up. So we all got together. We said there’s got to be some meals out there that are still affordable.
And what’s the definition of definition of affordable? Guess it depends on everyone, but I think under $15 here in San Diego is pretty good. We were under 10, but that was near impossible. I mean, that is really hard to do. So under 15 seems reasonable. We’re launching a new segment called Cheap
Eats Working for you to find these local restaurants that offer these great deals, Good Meals under 15 bucks. And CBS8’s Dana Bree Mcnicho live at the Flower Pot Cafe and Bakery in La Jolla to show us what they have to offer. Day debris. We know. All right, My family knows.
It’s a really great spot. But yeah, you found something that’s affordable there. Look at that. Absolutely. And you know what? Everything here is 1347. So really, the breakfast sandwich is about $10 in. Coffee is usually three. So you know what? We found that here. And it’s absolutely amazing because
Their food has such great quality. It’s all organic. I do want to bring in Amanda Morrow, though. She’s, you know, the mastermind, all of this, one of the owners. And tell us what we have because you’re homemade pesto. I could smell it so good. Thank you. Yeah. That’s our homemade pesto in
There we use organic tomatoes. Our croissants are from the French gourmet. It’s one of the few things we don’t bake because we don’t we we know who the French pastry chefs are in town and we support them organic fruit and then of course our our in house roasted coffee, that’s our organic dark
Roast blend this morning. And talk about the price. I mean it’s really affordable because when you come in you’re thinking OK $13.00 is. A great idea for a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. What goes into that? A lot of love. We try to keep our prices at A at a
Point where everyone can afford it. We have, you know, a lot of college students here in town and then a lot of a lot of families. And so we want to make sure that people can come here and feel like they’re not breaking the bank but still have a high quality meal.
And I love all the artwork. This place really does like your living room. I mean, this is a new location for you. For those who have never visited the flower pot, tell us what they can expect. They can. They can expect definitely friendly service and consistency is really key for us. We.

What do they have to try? Oh boy. Our our regular customers really love the Raisin date walnut muffin. That one’s a super big hit. The vegan granola bars are hard to beat. It’s sort of like an all day energy bar if if you need something to keep
You and sustain you through the day. Our lemon poppy seed muffin is my personal favorite. I really love the frosting on top. It’s really moist. We use Clover sour cream in the ingredients. It’s fantastic. Also the pumpkin muffins. Huge hit year round. Surprisingly, you don’t even have to wait for fall.
