Brett I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again some of my favorite cooks are copy cats yep copy cats and especially when they’re Burgers yes and you know what my favorite copy cat is you you’re my favorite copy cat cuz he’s a copy cat I was born first so technically
Relatively recently Wendy’s released our Baconator but with a pretzel bun and we’ be remiss if we didn’t give this one a go ourselves so we are simply doing our take on the Baconator with the pretzel bun you want to see us throw this one down on the griddle stick around while
We dig in I believe the wall twins they’re right there that’s one of them that’s the other one I’m the other one all right Switching gears here as always Brett is going to go ahead and get to the groceries oh yeah that’s right we got groceries here we do the front and
Center the star of the show is this Smithfield bacon we’re going to be using six pieces of bacon per Burger we’ve got these King’s Hawaiian pretzel buns that we talked about and when you’re wanting to do a copycat on Wendy’s uh you use Water Burger ketchup that’s what we got
Right here de May American cheese and this 8020 ground beef right here which we will be doing a semi smash today on these we’re not doing a full smash right cuz we kind of want these thicker Burgers we’ve done Wendy’s copycats before and we’ve actually shaped the
Patties this time we’re just going like our regular semi smash on these to get some good flavor cuz we want them thick and juicy but this is again our take on the bacon again unlike Wendy’s we are cutting Corners let’s get to The Griddle things
First we going to get our bacon on like Donkey Kong baby got it going on all night long Brett my brother Adam my BR brother Adam we know that this bacon cooks really quick and we say this every time we cook bacon we typically put it
On a cold griddle cool but last time we did it Brett it actually didn’t shrivel up too much it actually cooked very nice and quick and quick nice and quick now unfortunately because of the amount of bacon Eed on these Burgers we will not have snack and bacon we won’t have snack
And bacon well we’ll see we may have more than 12 slices here okay Brett as it turns out little extra snack and bacon just for you my dude yay me I like how that back extra delicate with that last one we’ll just let this cook up as soon as the Bacon’s done
We’ll pull it off the side and we’ll get going on the burgers really some burger exactly right my guy all right and about 2 and 1/2 minutes later our bacon is starting to be done cooked all the way through so pull it off and get to the next phase
Which is what Brad are we toasting them buns all right so Brad why don’t you go ahead and get the burgers ready so we were in a debate and the one thing you know usually we do a ton of research to make sure we really understand this the
One thing that we couldn’t see and couldn’t remember is whether or not they toast the Buns we like the Buns toasted we’re toasting the Buns even these pretzel buns now the Hawaiian pretzel buns do have a slight sweet taste to them different than other pretzel buns
We would get when we were at the store the one the only other option they had they had one pack and the the the pretzel buns felt a little bit too dense too dense so these ones are very very soft so we’ll go ahead and toast these
Up and we’ll get them and also they are a little bit smaller but that’s okay so this is where I’m going to do these buns so I don’t mind if it’s got a little bit of bacon grease BR I wish we had saved this bacon grease oh I was planning on
It my you ready so we’ll save some for bre all right but I’m going to toast these buns right here Brett’s got the first two down we get these two down like Bobby Brown all the way downtown all right buns are good oh those are perfect yes sure and these were put oh
That’s the perfect see that’s what I was trying to get before that one a little toasty that’s okay and just like so what we’ll do is we’ll put a little bit more mayonnaise on the tops of those as we button everything up so we’re going to smash the burgers flip them cheese them
And then I’ll put three pieces of bacon as we build this yes here we go all right here we go have everything ready in fact I’ll go ahead and get the mail yep while you’re doing that I’m going to H the mayonnaise on the top
Buns oh and the ketchup oh yeah so we go Mayo those are small buns aren’t they they are that is a okay these are more like uh junior baconators junior pretzel baconators Adam yes it’s time to L the Smash It Down bring it is smash is how’s that look Adam all right uh
Yeah yes we want them a little bit thick and they will shrivel up a little bit to hopefully fit right on those buns 7 8 9 10 okay all we’re going that’s okay I think those are going to be perfect since they are thicker we can leave them a little bit before flipping
And then even after we flip them we can continue to leave them cuz they’re going to continue to cook all the way through Brett you can go ahead and give them a flip there we go there we go there we go one more one more there we bring it at
Home doing the bacon my guy mhm one two three all right this is how we’re doing it make sure we get all six slices on doy she’s hot three two all right this is how we going make our bacon Ator bread all right so go ahead and put one on top of the
Other shut up this is ridiculous don’t knock it over okay shut up Wendy’s is going to be Green With Envy on This oh man ooh ready yes sir ouch all right time to take some pictures we’re going to dome these up here let me set this down and Dome these up here real quick How they look Canon oh my stars alive all right we’ll go ahead and get set those up take some picss and then we’ll eat Them well there it is in all it’s glory we got we already had to get paper towels because it is already ooing and gooing real quick Adam I got to get a picture of this right here this guy oh my gosh that is good it is ooing and
Gooing and I’m trying to wonder how I’m going to fit this all into my mouth but we will figure out a good point man how we going to do it I don’t know but we’re find out we’re going to unhinge the jaw and take her in but like we say it can
Look amazing tell me that does not look absolutely amazing like we say it can smell amazing oh bacon much can I get a smell yeah smell yeah you can you smell that person butn in there yeah you can but if this doesn’t taste amazing this

The research the ketchup is used on the regular baking eater we unsure on the pretzel bun I would not have put ketchup on it that said it was no I’m saying originally that said it’s actually good what do you think Canon it is that is a burgers Burger right there it is right
There bacon is stupid man that is a nap forer Wendy’s knows oh 100% I’m ready for a nap after that bite yeah it’s so good so good what did you say about Wendy’s Wendy’s what uh they knew they knew what they were doing with the bacon
Ater they said bacon ater was at a couple piece of bacon no no no six yeah six pieces of bacon and uh it wasn’t too much bacon no it was was fly enough the bacon it just it had a presence there but it wasn’t overbearing it’s so good
That pretzel bun the flavor with the beef I you know I love how we do these Burgers so good would you change anything no I’m okay with the ketchup in it I would I would like to try without the ketchup that might be the only pretzel with the pretzel bun you know
What uh mustard cuz you mustard with pretzel yeah mustard and manise I would do that and next to ketchup put mustard but still so good I’m just glad we came and did this we just look for an excuse weci yeah let’s do that twist our arm
