Choosing a place to stay in Paris can be really overwhelming Laray is a very popular area with tourists but that doesn’t mean that it’s right for you and let’s face it all you really want is a nice safe place that’s close to everything so after 3 years of wandering

Through Paris we’ve noticed some big differences in the different neighborhoods so in this video we’ll take you through the Moray and we’ll show you what it’s like to walk in these streets and the kind of hotels and shops and restaurants and things you’ll find so you’ll know if this this is a good

Place for you Al on the Vib in L meray is multifaceted it’s Chic it’s trendy it’s vibrant it’s elegant and it has a whole lot of Old World charm so you have to know that there are three distinct Parts the trendy and cultural North the vibrant and diverse Southeast and the

Historic and aristocratic West Laray is best for people who want to be close to bars beos and shopping and in an area that feels like a Parisian neighborhood one of the main centerpieces of the morray is right here at plaz Devo there are a lot of options for hotels in

Lamare especially if you like boutique hotel now Lam Mar was spared by the hosman Reconstruction of Paris in the late 1800 so it kept much of the Old Paris charm with small streets and old buildings in the lower part of lare close to the sample and Jewish District

Hotel Jobo is a great choice and now if you want to splurge and pamper yourself the pavon Len which is right there on plaz Devo is an amazing location this five-star Boutique Hotel is a Hidden Gem in Paris with a private Courtyard and amazing sleeping rooms now in the north

Part of lare close to the Republic you have this hotel Lam dumare which is one of our favorites here you have tons of restaurants and shops it’s a great place to stay for transportation in Lamar you need to know that although there are eight Metro stations and many lines and

Buses that come through they’re all around the edges and it’s a good thing that Laray is a very walkable part of town you’ll find Charming small narrow winding streets that take you all throughout the area and to be connected to the major attractions you have line

One Metro from the south which will take you just about anywhere you want to go and bus line 69 will also get you just about anywhere and that’s going to be much better for people with mobility issues because remember it’s a very walkable part of town and since Lemay is

So centrally located in the heart of Paris getting a taxi or an Uber anywhere should be simple and fairly affordable l Mar spreads over two hour this mon so you have a lot to do right here PL Devo is the iconic Square built in the 1600

And is a great place to rest or people watch Victor Hugo’s home on PL Devo is delightful for a quick visit and you also have a couple of small Museum like the Museum of caraval which is about the history of Paris and is a must stop of

Corner in the Cafe Muse near PL Devo you’ll find all the classics including amazing B borino served over mashed potatoes KET has three locations in Paris but this one right behind me in lamare is our favorite and if you want to treat yourself to a fancy gourmet

Dinner right here on PL Devo is a restaurant called lomis and it’s one of the top restaurants in all of Paris r cafe has a couple of locations here and they have amazing craves if that’s what you’re in the mood for I need to read the menu again

Because I want to know what that sauce is oh that’s good that is delicious I want to try the uh the ham and uh and the crepe There this is a so it’s a little bit more flavorful ham and I like it like that you know the cheese the the egg the con and the ham it just makes a really great blend of Aroma and flavors in Laray you’re going to find street food from everywhere

You’ve got Lebanese Asian American hot dogs just all kinds of stuff right here one of the best places to find it is right here on R rambut and speaking of street food the character dush is a great place to grab some yummy bites of s or an amazing Jambo bear and of course

If you want some of the classic macarons are they as good as rishar macaron the straight answer is no like they have a great reputation but they mass-produce so many that it’s impossible to have them as artisanal as you’re going to get in rishar here’s another great place for

Some to go food like they don’t have a place to sit down so it has to be street food but you can get amazing delicious rotisserie chicken there and some streets are better than others when it comes to things like street food like right here on the rud de Rosier in the

Heart of the Jewish quarter there’s a few places you may have heard of right here just I mean I don’t want to wait in that line look at this that’s crazy oh my God there’s one on both sides so if you’re looking to have a Falafel you can

Few options for Fresh Market right here in lare you have La Mar B right behind the hotel Deville on the south side of lamare that is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays and then you have the Renown Mar Rouge right here in the northern part of laay that’s more of a food court

With various vendors selling food to go or to eat on site this maret is perfect if you have multiple people that have different food taste everybody should be able to find something they like and know that it’s open Tuesday through Sunday and closed every Monday so plan accordingly also not technically lare

But right outside the edge of lare is the mar Alig that is a traditional covered maret that is also open Tuesday to Sunday and closed on Mondays and we recently did a food tour there with tour guide Sylvia and it was awesome I’m going to put a link in the description

  1. My wife would appreciate showing sign of street name because French spelling doesn’t match how it sounds. Maybe a brief map location.

  2. Seeing you touring the marais, the place i was born and grew up in, has a bitterweet taste. All of my childhood friends and their family, me included, ended up leaving this place and selling their flats: this neighborhood is simply too expensive for simple people to live in now. Tourism can be a blessing and a curse at the same time.
Maybe this neighborhood is too beautiful for us plebs to enjoy on the daily.

  3. Happy New Year! I’ve stayed in the Marais twice in Airbnbs and it’s my favorite neighborhood. So much to do and eat.

  4. The Marais is pretty good. You can easily pretend you’re a Parisienne. We’ve stayed twice in AirBnB- style accomm. So we could self-cater. We love eating out too! So much choice. Careful when booking homestays tho, we were ripped-off badly when COVID hit.

  5. Many people find Place du Vosges a bit out of the heart of the Marais..too much walking to get to the good stuff or home at night…Rule of thumb…stay in well lit streets where there are lots of people for safety…dark empty streets should be avoided anywhere in Paris..just be smart and aware that it is a big city and not your hometown…different rules..

  6. Marche enfant rouge has specific eating areas per restaurant so one person at least has to be eating in the specific restaurant per seating area…unless you take food to go…it would be uncomfortable and the restaurant owners may say something to you if you are eating from multiple areas of the market but sitting in their seating area that they must pay for…

  7. I really enjoy your videos. I used to walk in Paris and its museums until my feet were blistering. Last year, my wife and I traveled with our 1yo, and it was easy to find a playground and then visit museums while she napped. We’re now planning a trip with our girl when she’ll be 2 1/2. Any recommendations of attractions for toddlers? Mercy!

  8. Macaron is so overpriced and no more fashionable. Le Marais is like this now, it is a kind of macaron full area… 😂

  10. My husband and I are planning our 10 year anniversary trip to France and your videos have been SO VERY helpful to the planning process! I think we are going to spend a day or two in Paris (I'm going to have to do more research with you videos for these days in Paris), visit the Musee Monet, go visit Mont Saint Michelle, stop and visit some towns on the way to Bordeaux, then go get some macrons and wine taste! Allez, on y va!

  11. For me, it's really simple:
    – has to be within the périphérique
    – has to be 50EUR or less per night
I always find something, even if the hotels are shabby at best. But I'm not going to Paris to stay in the hotel anyways.

  12. Am running for the flight now! Hubs and I are celebrating our 41st anniversary
in March. Thank you for mentioning the LBGTQ clubs. Hopefully I shall get to
    show John Paris.
