We tried three “High end” dinner spots on Moorea. Watch to see if these restaurants are worth the $$$$.

Time Stamps
Rudy’s 00:48
Le Cook’s 04:34
Sofitel/Restaurant K 10:20

We are on our way to Rudy’s Rudy’s opens at 5:30 but they are booked until 8pm tonight The full moon is out tonight… nice drive Owner greeted us at the door This is the one of the only restaurants on the island that has Air Conditioning

Ambience is nice, soft french music in the background… They are famous for their seafood dishes… When in Moorea we try to stick to seafood The only dish that is expensive is the Langouste or the lobster Poisson cru $26 It is sweeter than the usual citrus flavored poisson cru 3.5/5

Wine is $12 USD for a glass…not bad Local Parrot fish stuffed with crab with roquefort sauce. $40 USD Fish is delicious. Veggies overcooked. 4/5 Shrimp and Scallop Duo $40 USD Provencale sauce is s amazing. Wine and tomato with local herbs 4.5/5 Shrimps are rubbery Dessert Menu.Desserts are great value. All under $15

Chocolate crepe with vanilla ice cream in the middle French Butter makes every dessert taste amazing 4.5/5 ..Crepe was on the chewy side Classic Creme Brulee 5/5 Best Creme Brulee The next two restaurants are in order past Rudy’s Bakery close to Rudy’s called Carameline High quality french desserts for less than $4 USD

Cream Puffs here are the best we’ve ever had Gorgeous Cakes for $15 Usd We are heading to Le Cook’s restaurant at the Cook’s Bay Hotel Cook’s Bay Hotel is the newest hotel on the island Public Beach is on the left Le cook’s is about 15 minutes from Rudy’s

Convenience store across from the beach sells pearls Parking is across the street from the hotel Hello Car is a rental car app on Moorea that drops rental cars off to your location Interior is modern since the hotel was built less than 2 years ago

The Ocean water is mixed with fresh water so it looks green View from our table. No air conditioning Foie gras and Veal wrapped with eggplant special with local shrimp $40 USD Duck leg with potatoes $46 USD Wine list… wine is always cheap here

The menu is large but here are the most popular dishes Tuna Carpaccio with arugala, parmesan and tomato to start $26 3.5/5 .. pretty good Outdoor lounge at the restaurant overlooking the bay Cook’s Bay Papio fish with quiche and ginger butter sauce ..$45

4/5 fish is tender… sauce could have bolder flavor Foie gras veal special. $40. Shrimps are tasty Can’t taste the foie gras much. 3.5/5 Sauce is too light let’s walk to the lookout while we wait for dessert You are allowed to smoke in this area Large dessert Menu Passion Fruit Coconut Pannacotta..

Top layer is too sour…3/5 Fresh fruit cup with ice cream Simple. Good. 4/5 Chocolate fondant cake with ice cream Really nice creamy chocolate flavor… not too sweet .4/5 Total was about $160. Tipping is not mandatory but we try to tip at least 10% here

We are leaving at 8pm and the resataurant is packed We are now heading to the Sofitel Hotel to eat at Restaurant K It is the most expensive meal of our trip Restaurant K is the highest ranked restaurant on trip advisor We made reservations two months in advance

We try to get to dinner early because driving on Moorea at night is hard due to the lack of streelights I smell fire burning …. many residents cook outside at night Here we are.. It feels more humid here than where we are staying (Tipaniers)

There are 4 restaurants at this hotel. We are at Restaurant K Outdoor Seating..the floor is sand Roof is made from French Polynesian wood There is no air conditioning nor fans We can see the island of Tahiti from here Free bread and french still water

We usually have to pay for bottled water at restaurants here The tap water here is not drinkable Set Menu only… We’ll try the 7 course menu ($180 USD) This french butter is very good, it richer than american butter Bread is a little stale $15 ..not bad First course.. Caviar and blini

Blini tastes old and the caviar is extremely salty. Rating 1/5 Foie gras Chocolate cake with fig layer in the middle the theme of this menu is chocolate but chocolate does not go well with foie gras… 2/5 Seared Scallops with fruit puree Average. 3/5. Scallops are chewy Papio fish with chinese cabbage

Cabbage has a chocolate sauce that ruins the dish for The cabbage ruined the taste of the fresh papio I’ll rate it 1.5/5 Duck breast with potato and chocolate sauce and local greens Can not finish it… everything has a strange bitter taste

Duck meat is hard to chew. Chocolate sauce is too strong Rating = 1/5 Chocolate mousse and sorbet Chocolate is bitter and sorbet is very sour Gold flakes are nice but it does not add to the flavor Total meal with $400 USD We have lots of bug bites on our legs

Chef was very ambitious with his chocolate theme Overall the food was not good and the atmosphere was too humid 🙁 Thanks for watching! Like and Sub if that was helpful!
