If you don't want to sound like a tourist in Lancaster County, pronounce it LANG-ki-stər.
Ryan's and Pancho's ❤❤❤
Many of these chains are dying in big cities.
😂😂😂I work at Bob Evans lol 2:44
Whats with that intro. No.
As someone who grew up very lower-middle class in NYC ,in the late 90's/early 2000s, going to a Chinese buffet was always one of my highlights since it was saved for special occasions. Now as an adult I look forward to sushi and Korean bbq buffets!
I'm from the area and go to Shady Maple all the time! There's also a "country store" on the lower that's just as big as the buffet, to wander off those calories.
Little wonder then that here in Estonia it's literally called a "Swedish table"
Can you do history of "Fair Foods" – Funnel Cake / Corn dogs / Candy Apples etc.. (Medevil Fair) Foods
As a Pennsylvanian, love the Shady Maple shoutout! It is delicious! I miss the Pizza Hut buffet for sure!
RIP Ponderosa.
I think I remember a Wendy's buffet in Texas as late as 2008.
The pizza buffet at my local Pizza Hut was still going before they remodeled the store. It was scheduled for lunch on Fridays and was still quite the draw, to the point where it took forever to get the pizza I ordered, because the kitchen was too busy stocking the buffet. I haven't been there on a Friday recently to see if they still do the buffet.
All I can eat is one plate full.
There is a buffet just down the road from me. They are still going strong but that is because it is cheap to eat there and the buffet is kinda small. But for 12 bucks drink included you can't beat it.
I mean who could say no to Thurday all you can eat fried chicken, chicken livers, and meat loaf? Not us southerners it seems. That is the day they make bank. 😂
I used to go to a Native American casino that had a buffet all the time. It was $5 per person, including drink. I think now its $8. I don't live there anymore, but I do miss it.
I was never born but I still have a you tube channel
hibachi? has that been a video yet? i’d love to watch it could be neat
Is this video geared for 5th graders?
What do I think? I think Ryan's went downhill when Buffet's Inc. bought them pretty much immediately. The menu changed, they no longer had chicken fried chicken wing segments. The mac & cheese went to crap, going from not quite grandma's recipe to not quite microwavable Kraft. The worst thing they did was the soft serve machine garbage. I have photos in my facebook timeline of when their "ice cream" didn't melt.
We still call it Swedish table in Polish❕
In Poland food served as a buffet is called "szwedzki stół" which translates to "Swedish table"
Haven't been to a buffet in a long, long time… and that last time was actually Shady Maple! It was actually kinda overwhelming.
And don't forget they even tried a vegetarian and soup + salad buffet, Sweet Tomatoes and Soup Plamtation….
COVID killed it but it was already on its death knell in the mid 2010's.
Fresh all you can eat salad is nice with fresh vegetables and four kinds of soup plus breadsticks and pasta…..
Their prices were the same as Golden Corral and more expensive than the typical Chinese buffet or Hometown Buffet…
Also having half off 65+ meals made it mostly a senior demographic using half-off or BOGO coupons for age 65+.
And as Gordon "its f—–g raw" Ramsay says "you can't build your business model around pensioners [retirees on Social Security] with half off coupons".
We had Duff's Smorgasbord and Hometown Buffet.
I hate to say it both were bad, they geared towards and older or snowbird clientele.
The green beans tasted like the corn which tasted like the macaroni & cheese which tasted like the chicken…..
Even when they added beef and a carving station later on, their food was blamd.
Golden corral and sizzler steakhouse and ponderosa steakhouse as well as the Chinese buffets had more flavor (early 2000s when I was in college)….
It seemed like anytime we went to hometown buffet or Duff's half the prople had to put their teeth in before they could eat and complained about any seasoning or when the food was not cooked to the consistency of baby food…..
I ate steak at all you could eat steak night at Sam's Town in Vegas. I was so full that I went to bed without gambling! Lol
Im a Chinese buffet enjoyer.
Just fot kix…break off a piece of pickle and dip it in a bit of ketchup. Then , ehen flanked by patrons Sneeze really hard then pull the pickle ketchup disguised as s nasty booger. 😂😅😮
The content creator is so obviously white, it's not even funny. Come to the West Coast or Pacific Northeast sometimes. Asian food buffets absolutely reign out there, way more than the Sizzlers or Old Country Buffets. So many different types too: Chinese seafood, dim sum, Korean BBQ, sushi, hibachi, pho, Indian, hot pot, and shabu-shabu are just some of the big ones. I'm sure I missed other types. And it's not just Asian people dining at those restaurants.
