French Toast (Fattiga Riddare / Pain Perdu) is such a nice way to enjoy bread that is a couple of days old. Especially this recipe with Salted Caramel and Chantilly Cream. You could potentially leave out the sugar in the cream and just make whipped Vanilla Cream, the dish will still be sweet enough. The Salted Caramel really elevates this dish in my mind.
