It seems like since the world opened back up, and now that everyone is on tour, people are acting up at concerts. These disruptive behaviors span from fighting, to throwing things onstage, to taking parasocial bonds to a whole new level. I touch on some recent viral events at concerts such as fans and fansites getting kicked out of the Agust D concert, fans getting removed from Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour, Hayley Williams kicking 2 fans out of Paramore’s show, fans showing pictures of Taylor’s grandmother Marjorie at the Eras Tour, a “fan” throwing a phone at BeBe Rexha, and another hitting Ava Max in the face. And just when I thought I’d caught them all, a fan tossed their mother’s ashes onstage at a Pink concert. Aside from these events, I discuss the seeming lack of concert etiquette nowadays, and some possible psychology behind these wild concert behaviors.
