Welcome back to Pinkvilla USA’s food series Pinch Of Masala, Season 2: San Francisco Edition. Join us on a scrumptious culinary adventure through San Francisco’s top ‘desi’ restaurants. Today we are visiting the restaurant AURUM located in Los Altos, which majorly focuses on the forgotten recipes of India.

Our host, Ritzy Pabla will take you on a gourmet experience crafted by Chef Manish, who even got a recommendation from Michelin, which is equivalent to an Oscar for a cook. Chef Manish prepared some five dishes for our host which included Jhalmuri, traditional street food from West Bengal with a smoky twist. He then went on to give Khichdi a totally new and different look. If you happen to visit Aurum someday, do not forget to try their ‘Olive and Thyme Naan’, a combination of naan and olive which brings to you a whole new flavour. Another dish that Aurum serves is called ‘Parsi Salli Boti’, lamb served with French fries that just melts in your mouth. If you had ever been to India or lived in India, you’d know that Ghevar is one of the most delicious and mouth-watering Indian desserts. Aurum has given our very own Ghevar a creamy modern twist that will relish your tastebuds. To satisfy your sweet tooth, Chef Manish brings to yet another very unique dessert ‘Chocolate Rasmalai’ which will leave you in awe. The combination of Californian blue hues with Indian vibes in the ambiance is a lovely addition to the good food and serves as the cherry on the cake. Watch the full video to witness the magic!
