Like a Renaissance vision from the vineyards of this romantic region, the storybook Château de Mirambeau, Member of Relais & Châteaux, is truly enchanting. The spindly spires of this historic manse were constructed as far back as the 11th century; newer sections were added in the 19th century, and a complete modernization was completed in 2002.

The property’s 40 rooms and Suites are all unique, equipped with every comfort, and decorated with antique furniture, sumptuous fabrics, and marble bathrooms. The History – The Château de Mirambeau was built on the site of an old medieval fortress. Since the 11th century, it has been attacked several times, regularly passing between English and French hands until it became definitively French again in the 15th century. Heavily damaged following several sieges, destruction, and fires, around 1570, the current north wing was built in a neo-Gothic style. The Château was then ceded to Lorraine at the beginning of the 18th century before finally becoming the state’s property after 1789. Finally, in 1813, the estate was sold to Count Charles Nicolas Duchâtel, who completely rebuilt it. In 2002, the castle was renovated and decorated with the greatest care to finally become one of the most wonderful Relais & French.

Since 2006 the Château has belonged to Sorgente Group, an international financial and real estate group, which acquired its management in November 2010 through the Sorgente Hotels and Resorts brand. In 2015 the Château remained closed for restructuring work and opened in April 2016 with 18 additional rooms and a renovated Spa. The Rooms & Suites – The rooms and suites are characterized by refined decoration, equipped with antique furniture, rich fabrics, all associated with the comfort of contemporary luxury. The 22 rooms of the Castle are distinguished mainly by their size and comfort: Superior, Deluxe, Junior Suite, Chateau Suite, and Grand Suite Comte et Comtesse Duchatel. Renovated in 2016, L ‘ Orangerie(wing adjacent to the Château) is accessible by the main lift and consists of the Spa, the Bar Le Jardin, and 18 Classic and Superior rooms, which are accessible for people with reduced mobility. The Restaurant Les Deux Lévriers Near Bordeaux – “At the crossroads of the Cognac and Bordeaux vineyards, let yourself be tempted by noble regional products, by a subtle and easy-to-read cuisine, vigorous juices, intense broths, cooking that sing, all in the French tradition by playing with measure the adventure of creation. ” The Restaurant du Château, faithful to the best French tradition, serves fine, creative, and regional gourmet cuisine inspired by the wealth of local markets, emphasizing products from the sea and the Gironde estuary.
