Im enjoying this bag of whole bean coffee. It is a MEDIUM roast, pretty well centered in the medium roast spectrum. It is overall, well balanced. Some medium roasts can taste too acidic or bitter, and this is relatively mellow.
Easy to drink, doesnt have a strong aroma but it does have a fresh taste. I tend to prefer it with some sort of creamer despite my preference for black.
Overall, I consider it a decent coffee for anyone when there are various tasting preferences in the mix. For example I prefer very dark bold chewy roasts and my husband prefers lighter slightly acidic medium roasts or light roasts, yet we can both drink this.
I will not be my regular go-to, but the quality, freshness, and middle of the road medium roast flavor profile has been a welcome addition. Coffee can be tricky to review as it ultimately comes down to personal preference.
Just know that this is a medium roast- not light, not dark.. medium.
And that this medium roast is fresh (made in small batches), is solidly in the middle of the roast spectrum (ie well balanced), and that it is a mix of regional beans: 34% Colombia Excelso 33% Brazil Red Catuai 33% India Monsoon Malabar

I just like it not to taste too bold or bitter, but my husband likes his coffee to be a little bold, but he doesn’t like the dark roasts generally. So, I’m always on the lookout for a coffee we both would like.
I ordered this to try, and we were both happy with this. I didn’t find this overwhelming even if it did a slight bolder taste than I like. Hubby really liked this coffee as both a pour-over and in the coffee maker.
The price is a tad higher than I like to pay, but it’s probably still reasonable. Recommend.
Great Basin’s small-batch coffee is always first-rate, and this medium-roast blend is no exception.
Their coffee is fresh, because of the small batch size, so even if you can’t get to your favorite local roaster, you can order this and be assured of fresh coffee.
The medium blend is a good compromise for many uses including (my favorite) French press. The flavors are complex enough to keep you interested, but not so outrageous that you easily tire of it.
These folks clearly care about the taste, and in this blend, there are 3 different coffees from 3 different countries. I like that they are explicit in their literature as to exactly what they have done.
This isn’t the cheapest coffee around. But if you can’t get to your usual source, and you are craving a quality brew, Great Basin deserves a look.
Love Great Basin coffee. My wife is from Utah, and brings it home for me when she goes to visit her family. Happy to see it for sale on Amazon.
