The first Grand Pyrenees Gourmet Drive on board of the latest BMW’s, such as the BMW 3 GT and BMW 5 starting from the vibrant city of Barcelona took us on a journey through the heart of the Spanish and French Pyrenees, sampling regional cuisine along the way. After three days of touring we arrived on east coast of Spain and the gourmet capital of the country, San Sebastian, where the group headed out on a walking tour sampling the best local Tapas. Our journey back to Barcelona, then took us via the French Pyrenees, then down to the Catalan town of Girona, where will stop for one evening, and dine at the world renowned El Celler de can roca.
The event runs for 8 nights, and includes 2 nights in Barcelona, 1 night in San Sebastian & Bilbao, and 4 nights in the mountains. Often following the famous N-260 the Pyrenean Axis via Andorra and the breathtaking Passo Port de la Bonaigua before going to the city of Sos del Rey for lunch and Rioja the next day to enjoy a guided tour in a typical spanish winery.
Gourmet highlights include dinner at the 3 Star El Celler – number 1 restaurant in the world, lunch at the 1 Star Els Casals farm, and lunch at the 3 Star Akelare in San Sebastian, as well as a walking tour of the best Tapas bars in San Sebastian.
